Super Jet Intro and general questions

New hear and have to say it is a great place. Like most late 30's noobs I stumbled upon x-h20 this spring looking to add a little fun to the cottage.
Needless to say I now own two 91 sn 650s and two 94 vxr pros. Got both sets for what I consider free and have been riding the crap out of them for the last few months.
The plan is to swap the 701 and 650 motors but here are a few things that I am unclear of.
Are pumps the same between the vxr pro and superjet? More specifically can I take the cast aluminum nozzles off the vxr pro and put them on the superjet to replace the plastic ones? Should I bore them?
Should I get the msd enhancer or just mod the rev limiter?
Does the midshaft bearing need to be upgraded?
Thanks
Matt

Welcome,
first off the pumps in the SN are aluminum with the exception of the reduction and steering nozzle i'm fairly positive they are the same size and can be swapped in seconds.

you mid shaft should be fine no upgrade needed there.

msd enhancer is nice. I have it in one of my SN (701) the other has OEM electrics.

Not sure i would look into boring the nozzles until you get a few other things in order. pipe, head etc etc.

pumps are the same between vxr pro and superjet other than the driveshaft.

You will run into an issue with the factory bilge though on the squarenose. It is a bit different setup than the VXR pro. It uses a different venturi setup. Just plug the bilge pickup on the vxr nozzle and you should be fine.

I wouldn't bother with boring nozzles until you get some other power adders done first.

An msd enhancer is a good upgrade after you get a pipe.

Don't bother with the midshaft unless it is broken. Then just replace it. OEM only, no WSM or SBT junk.

Some one chime in or google it. But pretty sure the props will be different pitches between the two skis.

it's likely but she shouldn't be switching the wear ring and pump portion of the skis, as the drive shafts are different. only "need" (not really) swap the reduction and steering nozzles.

the vxr pro will have a stainless prop and the superjet will have an aluminum prop unless its been changed. the pitch for the VXR pro works okay on a mild sj anyhow.

Wow thanks for all the great responses. To clear things up a bit here is a short list of the skis as they stand currently.

Both 91 SN

stainless props - dont know the pitch but they look like solas based on the nose ring when I look throught the intake grate.

worx 201 grates

extended r&d plate on one, pro-tech extended ride plate on the other that is cut flush

zero degree bars with odi rogue grips

rule bielges

VXR pro's

stainless props

pro-tech ride plates and intake grates

I ripped all the oil injection crap out and put in bypass kits

ripped out the gauge dash and glassed it and the hinge areas of both hoods. This was my first experience with glass and expoxy resin and it went pretty well.

As stated before I plan to swap the motors to the superjets and then leave one how it is and hype up the other. I will swap the nozzles this weekend which will also allow me to get more info on the prop setups. I think I will begin the search for a b-pipe and get that installed on the 650 motor for now until I make the motor swap. Didnt really here much about the rev limiter mod on the stock cdi? Is it worth it?

BTW I have had alot of hobbies in the past but this one seems more like a sickness of some sort, could be that fear of getting older. :scratchchin:
