I'm sure there are a ton of you guys on here with these already so which do you think is better and why?

We already have iphone 4S's and are loving them so the tablets should be equally as pleasing, we just don't know which will be more practical.

My wife will use hers to read books, stream music and Netflix movies about 4-6 hrs every day since she can use hers while she works. I will basically just use mine to browse the internet in front of the TV each night and maybe watch the odd movie out in the garage.

We are leaning towards the 16GB Mini's with wi/fi for $329.

What y'all think?

I have a ipad 2 and a ipad mini. There both nice and I like the mini for taking to work and watching movies or a book but the iPad 2 is nice for just sitting on the couch with it.
Whatever one you decide on get a htmi cable for your tv and a apple-hdmi adapter so you can use your tv for movies and youtube and everything. I ran a 25' hdmi from my tv and under the carpet and it comes out under my couch with the adapter. It usually just gets pushed into a cushion when im not using it but its nice for nexflix and stuff since I dont have a game system.

Wife has a 3, and daughter has the mini....they both like them but no clear winner, personal pref...

Go for the mini, the full size is nice, but its a bit bulky when compared to the what other industry manufacturers are coming out with.

I got a 3rd gen full size and would not want it any smaller. I use it primarily around the house to read forums, news, facebook, ebooks, pdf's. Every now and then I travel with it.
For mobility, I have the 4S.

I've heard from some that they don't miss the size and that the increased mobility more than makes up for the smaller screen.

Kindle Fire $200.00. Does just about everything an IPad does for half the cost. I just retired my iPhone 3GS. Picked up a 4S Friday. I do like the iPad/iPhone format as well. Just could not justify the cost.

Agreed^^ but i bought one for my lady and she says the battery is junk in it.....i don't think i'v ever used it so i couldn't tell ya.

I use my iPad 2 mainly for work out in the field. I use the AutoCad app all the time for projects, email ect. Only big down side, is Apple Numbers and Excel take a bit of getting used to?
i also fly several times a week, the IPad on the plane is way more convienant than my laptop!
face time contact to the office with field problems is also indespiensable!
i have tried the Mini, but it's just to small for my use.
Good luck with what ever you choose

I have a Ipad3 and a mini, the screen is better on the 3, but I love the mini. It is the perfect size, especially on the go. Plus, if you like to read books, the size of the mini works well because you can hold it with one hand. Both are great, but if I had to choose, I would buy the mini.

I have the Ipad 2, wife has the Kindle Fire (similar to the mini). I like the size of the kindle, but I think after spending so much time browsing on a smart phone platform (RAZR), the size of the Ipad can seem bulky. IMO, they came out with the Ipad Mini is response to market demand.... smaller screens... (on the flip side, it looks like smart phones are getting bigger with each model)

As far as battery goes, it depends on what you are doing. Movies will burn up the battery, but that will happen with any tablet. For Surfing or Reading, It has plenty of battery life. Plug it in when you go to bed. It will last all day unless you stay on it 16 hours straight, but then nothing will last all day like that either.

FWIW I have bought and passed out several of these refurbs from newegg..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&N=100013681 4016&IsNodeId=1&name=Refurbished

I also have a IPad mini here (Kelly got it free from work I would have never bought it) and they all do the same thing....which is not much....games, facebook, email, bla bla bla...

So I go with refurbed low dollar ones when someone "needs" one. And they are all so new that whatever was broken on them must have been DOA...so they replace what is DOA and resell them in perfect condition.

I have a dual core Dell streak 7 ...got it refurbed and mint for 99 shipped! I bought it for Kelly before she got her Ipad mini...just to show here that she would barely use it....I was right.

i have a samsung 10.1 tab and love it, i bought my daughters ipad minis for xmas and the boy has the samsung 8"

if you want everything apple then the mini are a great unit, if you want to save a couple buck then the samsung 8" is also a nice unit

i have gone between my 10.1 tab and the ipad mini and to be honest you dont really notice the screen difference too much

adaptor on the mini is different to iphone/pad in that they are using a mini usb type (so apple!)

so in summary, if you like apple, the mini is a great unit

Picked up 2 16GB ipad minis on wednesday and then got a sweet hookup on a 32GB mini as well so we are all set.

I was going to go with the mini for my wife and an ipad 4 for me but it looks like work is going to buy me a full sized one here in a few weeks so I went with a mini for me as well.

I ended up with an extra 16GB ipad mini in a sealed package if anyone needs one. $329 plus taxes and shipping. Speak up now before I return it this weekend for a full reimbursement.

Before i had a galaxy tab 7 / 16+16go /3G, for one and half year, i m very happy with it, no problem and good size to go out, for work and holidays in US, with GPS .

So in january a friend wants buy my tablet, ok ,time to change and try apple tablet , i buy a ipad mini 32go /3g, now, i ve got i since 2 weeks, and i m very .disapointed with it, . ....
Cannot open, doc, exel,pp,flash website, send sms , all the time you have to go on you main unit (pc or mac) to do something on, as organise app in, etc....

Ok i need more days to be able to use it and understand apple feeling.....

So one thing very positive is the screen size, the weight, and the look
