Is a used Krash ski a waste of money?

If I can get a 50 cal for 5-7k

Does that price offset how bad they suck?

Or do they suck so bad, just avoid?

Depends who you talk to, if they actually ever owned one and their ability to work on anything more than a lawn mower. I have 7 krash skis and I think the performance for the price is unbeatable unless you are looking for a strictly flat water ski.

This makes me more confident or comfortable with the idea of buying a krash.

I have no experience with ski’s

This will be my first one, I’ll be riding surf and flat water

I have experience with Harley’s, I’d rather a stock bike than something fully custom to start.

I keep thinking, if I go look at someone’s AM build….I have no clue what to look at or if I’m looking at a well put together ski.

I see krash ski’s that seem like a deal and I don’t know if I’ll need to worry about how it’s physically put together? If that makes any sense

It’s odd, this sport seriously has more AM options than big corporate company hulls

Krash is a production hull. I dont know about their quality or parts availability. All hulls are easy to damage so look for cracks and never buy a repainted hull.
 
They aren’t bad skis, I really enjoy the way my Krash rides although I did a few modifications to it. I think generally the consensus is that the mechanical offerings of Krash are less than the highest quality and durability would depend completely on the owners ability to maintain and respectfully operate their watercraft. I’m very meticulous and rarely have problems with any of my equipment in life. I have friends that destroy everything they touch because of their carelessness and desire to break things. Again, I think the general consensus would be that a Krash hull is of acceptable quality and can be a great watercraft if built with high quality mechanical parts. I think what Kevbo is trying to say about not buying a repainted ski, is that its possible a previous owner is trying to cover damage with a sloppy paint job while trying to get top dollar for their ski. Really sucks that people aren’t as honest as they could be, I got shafted on my Krash hull because the previous owner did not disclose the amount of damage. This unfortunately is fairly common with aftermarket watercraft hulls. There are plenty of people on here willing to help and give you solid info, when you decide on a ski just be ready for anything! We are all here to help though :cool:

Should mention that you are also a dealer. :)

At 5k, even if the 997 fails you will not be that far in the hole after swapping to a Yamaha power plant. I would also test ride the ski before buying. Lots of horror stories of people buying used after seeing them start on the trailer only to find out they wont run in water. (this includes all skis not just krash)

Like the previous posts have said, Krash hulls are not a bad ski. But the RTR ‘s have gotten a bad rap. l have owned 3 Krash hulls. Two foot rockets and one Predator. Always with my engine, drivelines and ascessories.
l had a lot of hope the RTR’s would have been a lot better, but the quality has hurt them. You know, when Honda, Toyota, and Subaru came to the USA, they were junk. Look at them today. So there may be some hope with Krash that they can overcome their hiccups. Some of it is the people buying them have never owned a ski before. A recipe for disaster. l think most of us on here, have already experienced a ton of issues over the years with other skis. So our approach to fixing them would be a lot different then someone with no knowledge of fixing things right.
