is a WDK ROK and ROK-R the same?

I see some called rok and some called rokr. wondering if they are different hulls or people just don't put the r on the end

and are they considered more of a rec hull or surf or flatwater?
I know the rip is the new one
wondering if this is a hull that can backflip and still chase a boat wake

Rok is a rec hull, the RokR is a flatwater hull that was probably too "flatwater" so the RIP came out, little longer hull and tray. Anybody who has spent the money on a RIP will probably tell you it's a good rec hull for chasing boats. I wouldn't believe it until you ride it. The Rok seems like a good rec hull for chasing boats but would take a decent amount of power to flatwater flip, not having ridden any of them, that would be my choice in a rec boat.

We have guy in our crew who's over 50, rides a glass ROK with a snappy 770cc motor on TL, mag pump etc. He's flipping it off yacht wakes.

I have pics somewhere.

I know this isn't what the OP was asking for. But since the discussion turned toward the application of each hull...

Yes the ROK is a great freeride hull, superb for chasing boats. It has a SXR-esque bottom deck/ chine lay out which makes it handle and hook really well. Its long and comfortable.

I've never been on a ROK-R, the feedback i've read is that its pretty ride-able but very short. Wants to get a little nose high, but easy to BF...

I had one more pic of him coming around but didn't see the need to post it. I'm pretty sure he landed this. Either way, he just started flipping this ski in 2014. Dude is my hero. I don't have the sack to flip my Chan.

My rok is great in the surf. Needs the front splash guard on the nose due to no bond line and foot holds need to come forward but its a super fun ski..can lay it over on the rails or have fun on wakes. Very happy with the quality as well.
