Freestyle Is it possible to...

I have an FX1 with a B pipe, freestyle impeller from
blowsion, jet dynamics ride plate, and a protec head waiting to go on. All I want to do is back flip, but is it even possible with an aftermarket pump and trim kit? Any help to get inverted.

People are gonna tell you to spend alot of unnecessary money. But people do it on superjet hulls. A lot of skill is required to do so. You'll probably want Atleast a nice big bore like a 771. Or... Spend a ton of money on a hull, dasa 1200, set back mag and trim and your home free. Lol. All depends on your budget and how you want to get it done. You also won't get the air some of these guys do on BOB's and such if you run the fx1 hull.

I don't get the obsession with back flipping. Most of us could just write a big check and be back flipping next week. What's the point?

Hit the surf and you can backflip almost anything off the right wave. Hell I learned on a heavy fixed steer squarenose with a 61X/61X motor. Cheap setup.

As for flatwater, you better pull out the checkbook.

Is that hull modified? Rockerrd nose and shortened? And are the fx1 bottom decks skinnier? Seems like l ess resistance to move out of the water.

Skinnier bottom = hull sits deeper in the water. There's a reason all the newfangled circus boats are short & wide.
The Rickter XFS is pretty heavy but very capable. Weight is only one factor, hull geometry is another. Probably more important than weight.
I don't see anybody flatwater flipping/rolling 440's and those are lighter than FX-1's.

i guess if your good with glass work you could do the 300sx hull with yami pump and engine setup. i imagine that could be kinda cheap IF your good with fiberglass.

That fx hull is definitely modified. Rocker nose, shortened, relocated handle pole, larger pump an probably intake, and I assure you it is 800+ cc's under the hood. I have a modded 760 in mine and don't get close to that hookup to launch a backy off from a flat spin. That is the only fx I've seen accomplish those tricks with that sort of ease. No disrespect to the rider as he has something to do with the equations as well.

I say find a used gen 2 BOB unless you love to work with glass and tinker.
