I have a 62T cylinder that i need to replace. the sleeves measured about 85.4 mm. would that mean its a 760?
is my engine a 701 or 760?

760 = 84mm pistons.... My guess is that your cylinder has been bored a couple of times making it now slightly larger than 760cc.

so im getting ready to order an engine from sbt. and i need to buy an oem head since i have an aftermarket one. do i order a 701 head or 760? i mean i cant order a 760 since i dont really have 64x 760 cylinders.

Nothing against SBT especially when you're just the average coucher looking for a STOCK motor that will give you the piece of mind of having a great warranty, but personally I wouldn't buy one for a superjet that I wanted to mod. You could probably rebuild your motor yourself for less. I've never rebuilt a motor myself, but I'm pretty confident I might be able to especially with the help/guidance you can get on this site.

the way I understand it is:
61x - 62t cases both come w/ 61x cyls = 701cc
I could be wrong..

wow im confused. i called sbt and they said if i had a 62t cylinder then they will only send me a 701.

True, but isn't there a 62t case with a 62t cylinder that is a 701 also.
Didn't the 701 raider come with that combination?

yes... i have one 62t cased, 62t 701 cylinder (oem).
6m6 cases/6m6 cylinder = 650 sj
61x cases/61x cylinder = 701 single carb sj
62t cases/61x cylinder = 701 dual carb sj
62t cases/62t cylinder = 701 dual carb raider
62t cases/64x cylinder = 760 dual carb raider/blaster 2

Yes I know all of that, but I remember someone telling me that there is also a 62T cylinder that is a 701. I was told it's basically an 81mm cylinder with the 62t port height and that's what came in the 701 Raider.
Not sure if they were right or not though.:dunno:
