There are 62T 701 cylinders.
The 760 cylinders are technically 64U or 64X ... can't remember.

ill check mine when i get home, but i thought they said 62t on the cylinders. and im pretty sure the ad for my superjet said the engine was pieced together from a raider and blaster.

6m6 cases/6m6 cylinder = 650 sj
61x cases/61x cylinder = 701 single carb sj
62t cases/61x cylinder = 701 dual carb sj
62t cases/62t cylinder = 701 dual carb raider
62t cases/64x cylinder = 760 dual carb raider/blaster 2

I think that's the way it goes,

Exactly. I forgot about the 64U cylinder. Appreciate it Jett.

The raider came with a 62T 701 motor.

just my opinon on this, and IM not bashing, or supporting SBT.

But, you can not rebuild one yourself any cheaper than SBT. try it, just ad the parts up, even if you can press a RnR a crank by yourself ( own the jogs, and press) I think the parts will nearly cost you what a rebuild from them costs.

now, you CAN most certainly build one one better, with better parts.
but for the sake of clarity, I do not beleive it is possible to do a complete engine rebuild for less than the cost of an SBT engine, even if you dont consider your labor cost.

Nothing against SBT especially when you're just the average coucher looking for a STOCK motor that will give you the piece of mind of having a great warranty, but personally I wouldn't buy one for a superjet that I wanted to mod. You could probably rebuild your motor yourself for less. I've never rebuilt a motor myself, but I'm pretty confident I might be able to especially with the help/guidance you can get on this site.

You're right. I forgot how cheap SBT motors are. Personally I would still rather spend a little bit more for better parts if I were talking about a modified ski. Now like I said if I just had a stock couch the SBT would be the first thing I would put in there.

Just to make matters more confusing.....

I have a 62t case & 701cc 62t cyl motor out of a 1994 Raider in my SJ.
I have seen (several times) 701 motors for sale that are out of 1995 Raiders that are 61x cased motors and also 1996 raiders that are 64x (760) motors. :dunno: why did they go back & forth for those 3 years?!?

94 Raider was the original, handlaid fiberglass hull, with the twin carb 62t 701 and went around 54mph

95 Raider Deluxe had a smc hull with the 61x 701 and did low 50's

96 they had a 760 Raider but it was still smc hull so it wasn't that much faster.

so i have a 701 cylinder thats been bored out to 760. and i need to order a 701 engine or parts if im rebuilding it. so i have a 760 head right?

I am not sure what you are asking here.

If it's at 84mm current bore and was running at some point, then it had a 760 head.
I am pretty sure SBT will give you a stock (or slightly over) bore 62T 701 back.
