FX-1 Is there a way to install hood straps w/o removing my gas tank?

i've got a b-pipe on mine i can have the tank out in under 5min.
take the battery tray out aswell makes it alot easier.

yeah.... I have a SJ tank in my little fx-1 so I avoid removing the tank whenever possible, but right now it sounds like it'll have to come out

I just installed the Jetmanic straps, and yeah tank removal is pretty much a necessity. Sorry brotha.

On my sj, my hood strap are mounted underneath the hood hooks.

Yeah I'd like to see pictures of the install points as well. My front latch is on borrowed time and I need to buy or make straps soon myself.

I know, I just like to see the different ways people have successfully done things, as well as the fail ways. I have 3 ideas of where I can mount mine as I should be ordering Jetmaniac's kit today.

I have my hood off but keep forgetting to take pics, I mounted it to the area right below the handle pole mount.
The panel that faces you (if the hood is off) is where I mounted mine. I mounted it so the heads of the bolts face the vent holes on the front of the hood. That way they wouldn't scratch the hood etc.

Please don't take offense to this comment, this is just constructive feedback...

If you can't remove the gas tank and put in a couple straps by yourself. Then you shouldn't be in the sport.


Though, here are two pictures of what I have. In regards to the picture with the hood off, you can see where I through bolted the webbing on the top right hand side of the picture.

I am also using two 1" stainless steel ratchets that I found in google shopping for $7 each.

The ratchets are so strong that I don't even have a dedicated FX1 pole bracket.

If you are afraid to pull the tank and have a drill and a tap I think you could make something work. There is enough metal there, you'll just have to get a few washers and some flat head screws.
