Is this a jetting problem? (pic)

Started running bad. Hard to start, but once warmed up I could get it running. Never seemed to run right, would almost die at low throttle and at full throttle would run, but not make full power. Then it died out and wouldn't start again.

I know you can read plugs by looking at them, can you read carbs just by looking at them? Any help would be appreciated.
Worst of all, it is acutally my ski, but it's my backup so I don't maintain it as well as I do my other ski....

Pretty much back to a stock 650 and I have stock jets back in, and have the screws set per the manual. It ran OK in the winter, could it be the hot weather is softening the powerband?

 It looks like it's time for a carb rebuild.

Pull the valve body off and see if that crap is on the jets.

Get yourself a couple cans of carburetor cleaner and maybe even a carb parts cleaning tank to get rid of all those debris.

Last time I checked, you need a flux capicator to burn salt!! :frown:

better drain the tank while you are cleaning!!!! Yuck!!

Thats one of the nice things about a fresh water lake, I don't see much of that crap anymore!!!! :sneaky:

for this, i'm willing to pay the consequences of a carb rebuild every so hardly-never...

i think it's a pretty fair deal between the surf and us.

hell yes.....and the best solution for NOT having to rebuild carbs is to just ride every weekend!

I agree... i would gladly deal with more maintenance for that... Fresh water is nice, but it's no ocean with real surf...

Thanks guys, especially Jr. I was wondering what that crap was, and was surprised it ran at all. My friend swamped it at the Daytona freeride and I had a motor and fuel tank full of saltwater. I drained the full tank months ago and have run the ski several times. Seemed to run OK, but again, I'm hardly ever riding it since I just keep that one for my buddies to ride.

I was amazed when I opened the carb and figured you guys would enjoy the photo :Banane01:
