Is this a "Lowered Pole Bracket"?

Question for the standup guys.

This SJ I'm messing with has an R&D pole bracket and it seems the pole sits lower than its supposed to. I have nothing to compare this to because both hulls I acquired have this bracket.

What are the benefits of this thing?

Thanks,

Yes That is R&D's lowered pole bracket. The pivot point is about 1 inch lower and 1 inch forward of the OEM bracket. I believe the idea of a Lowered pole bracket is that its suppose to help with torque (For better control) I don't know if it really works but I have the exact same one and I really like it. If you prefer running a stock pole or do not like riding with a "tightened " pole and have to rely on the base stopper to hold the pole in the "Up" position, then its the very best after market pole bracket out there, because its the only one that has the cut out for the pole stopper and more importantly the sides pieces can be removed making the installation of a pole spring a breeze. Hang on to it- R&D no longer makes them.

Gonna say that ski or at least the pole once belonged to Topher Boretta (SP!), He use to race the National Tour years ago, was from the Philippians.

I like those new testament guys.... Racing for Jesus! :)

I had one of those R&D brackets. Worked great, I did have to re-tap it several years ago but it held up fine.

Topher is a friend of mine. That's how I ended up with the hulls. He's still holding on to the championship SJ, and the setup SXR. I had to part out the race motor because the bottom end was bad and I didn't want to spend all that cash to build something that only takes race gas. (To expensive out here)

Just curious how you could tell who a ski belonged to just by looking at parts of a pole that I mostly stripped off already?

The National Tour Stickers. And your location. Only made sense that is who's ski they came off of. I loved the ProTec Sj's he use to ride. Great Paint Job!

At one time I had the same stickers on my pole. Back in 2000!!!!!!!!

I think Superjett got to ride with him or something a long time ago......... I remember Darin commenting on Topher on PWCToday
I miss those days when the sport was accessible to most people without having to trade your first born. Im sure a lot of people feel the same way. Im happy to get involved again after so many years away from Jetskiing, and to find out it is still thriving. I would have never thought that my favorite place to be online would be a Freestyle Site. With all the help I have been receiving from members, and seeing all the events I wish I could attend, keeps me motivated to keep building stuff.

The X Rocks!
