Super Jet Is this everything I need to reinforce and add footholds?

also instead of expensive pumps that gum up eventually or that you will only use for this project and throw away, get a small scale at walmart, etc. and now you can just pour into the cup on the scale. if you suck at math or have a hard time concentrating while panicing as your resin is heating up and your not ready for it to be going off, then make your life easier and make a chart with the 3:1 ratios on it and tape it next to the scale. I got mine for like 14 bucks. works great for measuring all resins and the foam too.

not sure that is really necessary, gelcoat is just colored resin. but it doesnt have the glass reinforcement in it. the glass can flex a good deal while the gelcoat not as much. hairline cracks in the gelcoat are just that. they are not structural damage, and besides if the reinforcement is laid over it then it will really be hard to flex it to the point it cracks. And if this is all just for the footholds, pfft. now if we were talking a newer sj, which seem to be painted, that :):):):) comes off in sheets, def sand all that crap away. lol same w a hood.

scuff it up, put some thickened epoxy behind the holds and screw or rivet em in. lay some glass over it and done. foam after resin cures. turf and ride it.

Thanks man good to know for future projects!

I would stay away from rockering the nose until you have more experience with glass. Not to say you can't do it but that's a very good way to end up with a ski that's never in the water. Tom21 can vouch for my 1st hand knowledge of spending too much time working on a hull and not enough time riding it.

May I suggest NOT reinforcing, fix the crack, seal holes in bulkhead (check it for leaks by drilling small hole in tray where your holds will go and use a very little bit of compressed air) seal all leaks. If you are refoaming or defoaming might as well seal it best ya can. Do this again once holds are installed and bulkead is sealed.
No sense in reinforcing a SN hull, they are heavy already. Leave it light reparir as and if needed. You will be good at it once this repair and foothold install are done. Focus on fixing the leaky azz SN hood if you have not already.
If your dead set on doing more than repair and seal then shorten it in rear 4-5" and rocker the front but STILL do not reinforce it.

It needs to be reinforced. After pulling everything out of it I found multiple small cracks/holes plus the latest large crack. I am sure a-lot of it is from the previous owners beaching it. I have a Blowsion hood and aluminum pole. (Snapped the last pole) As far as the weight I am calling around and looking to get some port work and maybe bore it out to 771.

I also have a wb1 and 550 to so I will still get some water time in. =)

Crack between the sockets. Get about 4" of water in just a few minutes.

What do you think about reinforcing under the pole bracket? Waste of time as well?

...chaos? Its Fair!
Quin just lay 2-3 pieces of 1208 over that. And fill the outside with epoxy and microballoons. Make sure when you lay the glass that it extends 4-6 inches past the crack in all directions and that you lay all the pieces at one time for superior bonding.
