Jet maniacs pump shoe I do have some talents in the relm of grinding and glossing but idk we'll see how it goes I might do all this work and then go search for a doner ski or a tom 21 pump tunnel I'm just in over my head at that point that's a lot of cutting my friend I'll check out your thread and try to learn stuff

I'm behind the times then. I didn't even know he offered them. Seems like it would be tough to fit the shoe and the pump without it being threaded and stuff but IDK. I've had two FX1's with 144 pumps and both had a lot of glass work done to the pump tunnels.

Good luck regardless.

You can run a 144 pump in the fx1 cavity whist still using the oem 122mm shoe. if you can get your stock shoe out with out destroying it, you can enlarge the opening "close" to the 144 inlet. IT will not be a true 144 but save a lot of work glass wise in the shoe area.. many guys have done it this way. but im guessing you've already started cutting abit into the hull and no turning back now..

Looking back I wish I would have just filled it with epoxie and put it back BUT this is going to be the "best fx1 ever" so naturally I jumped in with both feet and yaked the old and am currently craming in the new

So today I rebuilt my 144 sj pump, oil seals and bearings, and when I calculatedly pressed together "hammered the sh**" I noticed it was smooth to turn but would not just free spin maybe a little tight feeling if you will sooooo is this right ?

image.jpeg image.jpeg Who says you can't get 144 from a fx1 pump tunnel ? Over my time of researching this build iv read how you may need to do some grinding and glass work to get everything to fit properly to anyone looking to put a 144 pump in a fx1 you must do"by my standards " a lot of grinding and glass work In the end if you F*** it all up its just glass and can all be re done is my new saying ... Anyone have any constructive input

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Pump seems to be in mates! I'm going to need 0 shims in the front maybe 1/16 of shims in the back to center the shaft and waaa laa after grinding the x bracing in the ride plate it will sit 100% flush with no shims. O and I need to some how cut my pump shoe I started this project with 10 fingers I hope I end it that way

It's tough! Plan on going through and glassing back after I did this the 122 shoe filed with epoxie sounds easier but all said and done it works out just a lot of cutting on the shoe and the hull

I did where the shoe sits down in with a dremel and I used an angle grinder with a 60 grit sandpaper wheel for opening up the pump tunnel the dremel is very slow and a grinder seems a little big you don't want to mess up your through hull fittings so that's what makes it tuff
