Is this waterbox for a square or round?

i checked out rivayamaha's parts finder and compared. but i want to make sure.


and does any one know why i squares waterbox is 160 something dollars while the rounds is over 450 dollars?

just curious.

and also that water box is made by PJs and wondering if any one ever heard one of them and if they are loud or not. i don't need more loud things right now.

Actually, PJ was reselling that under their own label (they didn't actually make that waterbox).

I have the same one in my SJ and if you have a wet pipe, the sound is not bad at all. This waterbox holds a fair amount of water and you can never completely "clear it out." That is why the sound isn't so bad.

Is your OEM box leaking? Personally I think your crazy to swap this while keeping the rest stock (just like all those kids running those 5" tailpipes on a stock 4-banger :woot:

Is it wise, or an option at least, to make the square nose waterbox work in a round nose? They look to nearly fit ok, and I have a SN FPP waterbox here that I'd like to use in my RN SJ

if you look at the riva site and compare designs is pretty similar. i bet you can twist the hoses to make them work. worst case scenario is you have a few beers working on your ski and no waterbox.

i have that same pjs waterbox in my round.its not loud at all.also before i got it i had a stock square box in there,it fit perfectly

That's an old factory pipe sn box. No longer produced. The outlet is for the smaller sn exit hose. If you did use it in a rn, the exit hose may not be long enough and if it is it's a bit bigger but a good hose clamp.will smash it down and seal it. I get 200$ plus shipping for those when I have them.
