FX-1 Issues (Fuel Suspected)

Ok so there are two main issues that i am having with my ski. The first of which is that every time i get into even mild swells, it stalls out. I believe it to be some kind of fuel problem. I have troubleshooted other things. It runs great everywhere else, simply rips, but i get into 3-5 ft swells and a little up and down and boom. Motor dies and im there for a few minutes getting hammered by waves.

THe second is i seem to run through sparkplugs like crazy. Every time the ski flips, even if for a few seconds, It wont turn over until i swap in new plugs. This as well i dont understand as i run ngk's. That being said, it is getting quite expensive and annoying.

I dont believe these to be problems specific to the fx1, so i will likely post elsewhere as well. Please any help is much appreciated, im growing tired of this. BRad

I would pull a compression check to make sure the cylinders are still in good shape. Then look into the carbs, like jetting, pop off, and make sure your spark arrestor is clean. Also is the engine all stock?

You say it runs fine everywhere but surf and changing plugs was your fix. Are the plugs milky looking from water intrusion? The carbs are right by the hood seal. Get a rachet strap or make a barrier to block water from splashing in. Need new hood seal?

Cut back your plug wires, check fuel tank pickup height, test fuel tank check valve, clean carbs. Change fuel filter.

All easy maintenance and if that doesn't solve your problem come back and we can make another suggestion.
