exactly. Its hard for me to believe that someone would say that, but yet I know that it happens all the time.
This is why you demand to hear it run and/or take a battery with you.
I wouldn't call him a dirt bag though because I can see what went through his head. He tried to start it, it wouldn't turn over because it was rusted up, and the torque from the starter against the bendix pushed the starter out of place.

hahaha i have heard that twice and both times i brought a battery. thank goodness. they were locked up and not winterized
Mikunis come that way from the factory. Nothing to worry about.
