Hey X-h2o crew!

My name is Dan and I'm new to ski building, I came from a motocross background and building bikes. I think the Superjet build is going well so far. But I'd love everyones collective thoughts on the build since I am a noob technically haha. Enjoy

poop my hand slipped!

Bracketed and ground out

A little bit of milled fibre

Dash foamed and covered in 1208 biaxial

4 layers of 19oz twill carbon

The Carter B kit and some smoothed out bond lines

Fixing up the old square nose dent haha. One layer of 1708 and milled fibre. Then skimmed with micro balloons

That's all I have for now cause it's a work in progress but heres a pick of my past project if anyone cares. It's a 2000 kx250

That's pretty much what to expect. I can't help you with the business end because I haven't bit the bullet and tried to sell anything yet, but I've built a few hulls from scratch. Looks like you're off to a very good start, but if you need any advise or tips, don't be afraid to ask myself, air blair, nate d, or anyone else. Most everyone enjoys sharing knowledge around here.

Ok awesome and thanks! And I do have a question right off the bat! If I get blowsion tubbies how do you know where to position them in accordance to the hulls shape and weight? I would assume small changes in weight plus rider weight could really make them ride like crap.

I've never ran tubbies on any of my skis. I'm not sure how they would fit with the rocker at this point. They appear to only attach with 3 or 4 bolts. I suppose you could play with mounting locations before the final paint job and fill any unused holes.

Ok nice thanks. And ya I was thinking that ill ride it in primer for a few rides till I get it set up properly.

Tubbies: install as far forward as you can, do not try to match the bottom edge of tubbie to bottom edge of ski. Leave a lil gap, this is my experience from glassing and screwing tubbie2s

1/4 gap from bottom is my preference but according to Blowsion if your wanting to do more freestyle put it flush with bottom. Rockering the front change shape of say a stock tubby? Tom21 sponsons are my favorite btw. But I like to carve also.
