Alright, well it was time to renew the SJ motor. Could use a new crank, def some new pistons, and some other little refreshers. While the motor was out, I figure I might aswell sproose it up a bit. Along with some good sponsors and a VERY good streak of luck, it's all coming together.

First off....I'd like to thank my sponsors for helping out so much. They've put in free work, discounted parts, free parts, funding, or other support for me at competetions.

Managed to break one of those stupid starter bolts today while removing it. Tricky1 told me it was a common thing for those bolts to snap when we put rings in my motor last year. How did I know it would happen to me when I went to do it. I have a friend who has a machine shop who will remove it for a pack of cigs so it should be cool. Horray for cancer addicts!

Parts...

With an outstanding stroke of luck, I worked out a deal with a friend witht he selling of his ski I recieved a free set of Dual 44's. I purchased a R&D manifold from a board member at a fair price soon after.

Lightened flywheel from LPW. Cant wait to torque it down. Hoping to pick up some quicker revs with the flywheel, reeds, and lighter pistons.

Hot Rods stock stroke crank. Found a nice deal on an extra a friend had. New cranks are a chunk stealer but the peace of mind after running a 10 year old crank is there. I'm all fresh. Still havent even opened the sealed package

Tommorrow we are deturfing, cleaning up the tray, and getting ready for glass.

UPDATE...while removeing those dandy little starter bolts from my crank case one snapped off inside the hole(top mount) I took it to my friend whos a machinest. He usually has my screw ups fixed and ready in less then 10 minutes, but this one he is actually having to take to work to put on the milling machine....

Had the same thing happen on my Blaster (61x engine).... I think I am going to see if I can find some true grade 8 bolts or similar stainless. Might go with anitsieze instead of loctite on the motor swap.

Nice list. Might want to check the size of the exit on the exhaust manifold while it's off. Good for some free horsepower if you open it up yourself.
I just had my cyl bored for the first time since it was new in 94. Bored to .004 clearance with 83mm Weiscos. So far it's a nice improvement.

Tricky1 opene dup my mani when re put new rings in my motor last year as a "get by" Apprently the last owner opened the head pipe but never the mani....i could never figure out why i had oil seeping from my gasket. No one could until Jason measured.

use antisieze on bolts like that.

We did...:frown:

I'll get you some new RF stickers, Jesse. :Flush:
