I really like this setup, but pic #4 looks pretty scarry.......... where the pivot point is, when the ski tilts up to the PVC bunks!
How do you keep it from scratching the chit out of the hull?

Pretty cool stuff, if I didnt already have a double trailer I would be working on building something like this.

BY the way you can pick up a winch from Harbor Freight for as cheap as $20 for a hand unit or $40 for an electric winch.

thats basically my setup without the ramp (have an EZ ramp, but decided not necessary) and a come-a-long instead of winch. the pvc is mounted to a board that is just wide enough to fit between the wheel wells.its about half the length of the bed and i attach straps so it will hang off the tailgate get the ski on it and crank it in

Ok I live in NC and we can drive on the beach ( Freeman park), but you cant take your trailer with you so does anyone know how to get the ski from the truck to the water and vice versa anyone been to freeman park and done this jet ski shuffle ?

Full size Chevy 6ft bed

Superjet in truck ready to go in about 6 mins, out of truck in less time

Ramp I back in until tires are just before water then winch it down into water

You can check the thread out under hauling skis

I too have heard that tee'ing both bags is a no no while researching bags for cab over camper. Keep them independent on separate fittings/lines to prevent the above described situation when turning.

@Vumad are you using a distribution hitch with your toy hauler? I didn't with ours for a long time but once I did wished I hadn't waited as long as I had. Got the rear off the overloads and improved the ride substantially.

The System

I wanted a one man system, which was easy and not strenuous.

1. Build a garage cart the same height as the gate of the truck.
2. Build removable rails for bed of truck. Using same materials as the cart:
wood, screws, glue and PVC (for easy slidding).
3. Weld attachment at bed wall (at cab).

Easy out: At the lake I back my truck into the water to the centerline of my rear wheel (keep engine on). Step out and into bed, remove pin at bow, slide out into the water and move it to the side.

Easy in: Back truck into the water, as above. The water will be aprox 6-8 inches from gate. Pick up front end of ski and rest bond flange on liftgate edge. Move to rear of ski, start engine, right hand on throttle-left hand at rear end of tray. Slowly push down rear (left hand) then gently and smooth gas it and blip it in. Once it hops in, push ski in about 2-3 ft till totally in. Add pin at bow hole. After out and parked, I strap the rear hole to the bottom edge of my bumper and of course, the pole down too.

Easy, and no damage, no skid marks to ski or my sweet truck. Good System!

See pics below.
Would you mind sharing the measurements? I’d like to build this. Thank you.
