Jet Ski Trailer for ATV

like the title says, i would like to see if anyone is running special trailers they use for ski's that they tow behind a quad


i am going to be putting together a custom lowboy trailer to make launching and recovery easier especially after a long day of riding last thing you wanna do is have to manhandle a couple hundred pounds, also i will be using it on my sxr which is double the weight so it has to handle it.

i am accepting any and all ideas/suggestions, it will strictly be towed with an atv, does not need to be street legal, and will be used to launch from anything to beaches to steep drop offs on lake/riverbanks.

i will update this thread with progress as i go forward with it, i would like to hear ideas in the meantime

You could tie any beach cart to the back of your atv.

because where i mainly ride and have property your standard size vehicle trailers dont fit in the trails, that jetlift trailer is really nice, although im in canada, after the exchange and high shipping thats over 3000$ for a trailer that small, hence why i need to custom build one

That makes sense. How much width can you handle on your trails?

Single place jetski trailers are only something like 42" wide and would stand up much better than a modded beach cart, plus they usually have winches to aid with retrieval.
They can be picked up around here for a couple hundred bucks but such things are much more common around here.

Where about in Canada? The pics I posted above were from when I lived in High Level AB.

I’m in Alaska and have 5 jetlift carts.. time is money too. You won’t build the same quality that jetlift is making now for cheaper. I had a design all worked out, then priced it out. Way more unless you build 100 of them. The wheels are the biggest shipping cost. The jetlift carts come disassembled for shipping. You can buy the wheels from Amazon if you are really cheap.

Only thing I dont like about the carts is the tires make it float. Can be a pain to load.

Otherwise consider a hitch hauler for pickup. Best bang for the buck. Fastest in out of water.

Also note the jetlift beach tote with hitch kit is a bit cheaper.. you said “low boy” which is actually a model and it costs more..

I built this trailer a few yrs ago to haul my 550 a few blocks behind a hopped up golf cart. It worked great, even at 25 or 30 mph.
It's made of a galvanized fence post, some angle iron, 1 PC of DOM, an eBay axle kit, a pair of old ATV rims and tires, and a pressure treated 2x6. Cost me maybe $100.

I have since sold the golf cart & am using a Jeep Wrangler & a hitch hauler. I'm thinking about picking up a Gorilla cart from North40 to modify for hauling the ski from the Jeep down a trail to the river bank.
