Okay guys would love some input on what’s good out there nowadays. Been away from riding for ten years.my last ski was a super jet done by 24-7 with a lamey motor. I ride mix of every type of water.
That thing is glorious.I recently finished building my Crazy Joes's Bam. If you haven't heard of him, it's a garage operation that only spits out a few hulls per year, but they're perfect. A lot of care goes into these hulls. He does custom paint for all the hulls, well beyond a basic job. These are show pieces. I got full carbon with candy blue for half the price of a Rickter. I'm very happy with how it turned out. It turns really nice and is very easy to launch and spin. I hope to do a back to back ride comparison with a Rickter in a few weeks. I'm not sure where you are, but he's just over the border in Michigan, close to Sarnia.
They are actually pretty good hulls. 2016 and newer Rickter XFR would also bee good.Anyone ride the phantom hulls
There is only 1 model of phantom in different layups. For the price of a used one they are great hulls.Do they make more then one model I can’t find much info on them

Every time I go to the river people stop me and want to know what the hell is that thing, I think there's only two that I know of in western Washington.bring back the superfreak
There's one for sale here in western Washington on Craigslist right now.I recently finished building my Crazy Joes's Bam. I'm minus5 and you are gonna love the way it rides with any powerplant!i got lucky and found from what i understand 1 of possibly 3 or 4 ever glass constructed -4.3 badass hulls ever made. its quite a project hull though. im hoping to have it on the water by daytona.
For those of us who weren't around for the rise and fall ... who made the superfreak? When? What were the common variations? I think I recall reading that it was basically "how much 'minus' do you want"... Or, if there's a "The Tale of the Superfreak" written already somewhere, a link to it would be great.bring back the superfreak

I think @Sanoman is the guy who would have the history, and maybe a few other guys on here.
But, my understanding, they were originally built by a guy named Tem who went by "Berky" on here.
"Pre-Badass"
There was a period of big variation and experimentation. I think he was maybe making hulls for Xscream that were closer to lightweight superjets, then there were the "swoopy sided" hulls that were getting more towards a fully custom hull not really based on a superjet.
"Badass"
That evolved to somewhat of a standardization on the "badass" which came in a few different lengths (I think from full length to -10) but most common seems to be -4.3 (this is length on the rear relative to a superjet). These were really well made lightweight carbon fiber hulls, everything is designed to be very low, the tray is low, the motor is low, the distance from bond line to bottom of hull is small, so the pump tunnel is only big enough for a "144 sized" pump (so a 148 or a 150 built on the basic size of the stock 144 fits but not a a 155) . A few years ago every "all around hull" thread on this forum had people saying the badass was the best.
"Circus"
Then that got shortened a bit more and slightly redesigned with a bigger pump tunnel to fit 155/160mm pumps and an integrated carbon fiber "wing" in the pump tunnel that eliminates the intake grate, this was the "Circus"
"Titan"
Then the Badass got slightly redesigned so that a regular pole mount can be used (Badass and Circus used a kind of integrated pole mount with side plates mounted straight to the carbon) and was made in fiberglass by Thrust innovations and sold as the "Titan" for a lower price, there was also a "Titan pro" of the same design made of carbon I'm not clear if Tem was still making those. I have a -9 fiberglass Titan, the -9 seems to be a common size for those. Mine is not lightweight at all.
Then Tem got out of making ski hulls and started making "Berky boats" which you can google, they are impressive.
I don't know if Thrust or anybody is still making any superfreak hulls, there were molds for sale a while ago but I don't recall which molds they were (badass or circus or titan or all)
I would love it if somebody started a "the history of aftermarket hulls" thread and put together the history/evolution of the various hulls.
