Freestyle Jetski security

Hey guys, what does eveyone use for security on the jetskis (apart from a good gun collection and a big dog)? on trailer and off? Was going to try a cable lock with alarm but not too sure if they are anygood.

Someone must have some good ideas to stop the inconvenience of having a ski stolen.

I tend to leave my hood off or put it inside, If i'm gonna be gone for a few days ill disconnect the spark plug wires and leave some tools in my trays. No one around here knows jack sqwat about stand up's and crack heads want something they can sale quick, if it's broke usually they want nothing to do with it.

I use a bike lock connected to the trailer and the skis, then use one of those pins (for the trailer hitch) that has a key lock on it. I don't lock it at home, but I also live in the middle of the woods where it's hard enough for anyone to even find my house. Of course, there also 650sx with the pricey one being at like $1500 if I sold everything on it, so it's not like it's a $20k ski going into the drain.

No need for security where I live, but on road trips, I put a cable lock through the intake grate and around the driveshaft, or just wrap a big chain around it to a trailer. Most skis at rides aren't locked at all, so why would they take mine if it looks secure?

im more worried about someone stealing my truck when the skis in the back. Compustar 2way alarm and i use the club on the steering wheel when i have my ski with me.... Its an older chev, they have a reputation for going missing around my area

Have you read the reviews on that? They say that it doesn't even lock.

I go up around the driveshaft. I had a lock in mine when I left them overnight in nyc. other than that I once gave a drunk bum a beer in pcola to watch our skis.

they used to sell locks that woudl go up through the intake and hook the driveshaft....then locked to the trailer......havent seen them in years though....they looked like bailing hooks for slinging straw

that being said..I keep my skis inside and whenever on a road trip I TRY not to let them out of my sight......if staying at a hotel park right outide the window and leave blinds open....
