Affordable Power is Here!
Hey Friends,
You may have seen this news on social media, but I wanted to take a minute and officially announce the JSN lineup of engines and parts here on the X.

In partnership with Tony from TigerCraft, we've built a series of engine packages and components that are more affordable and make more power. These engines are based around the world-famous CP Industries cylinder you've seen from other engine builders such as TPE.

So what's the goal?
Well, for one, pricing in the big CC engine market has gotten out of hand. By designing all supporting parts (head shell, domes, power valves, cases, studs, etc.) in house, we've been able to dramatically reduce reliance on external vendors and share that cost savings with consumers. We've also been able to squeeze more power out of these packages than ever before. For example, I've designed the 1200cc billet cases to be an exact match to the CPI cylinder. I've also optimized case volume, crank clearance and intake flow specifically for this cylinder. We've experimented with port timing and found a combo that hits HARD throughout the power band. I've also designed and built an industry-first 20 degree angle intake that matches popular speed plate bolt spacing so yoiu can easily swap carbs with other motors for experimenting or troubleshooting,.

What Motors is JSN Selling?

JSN964 Engine Package - Normal price: $5,500 on sale for $4799 through Cyber Monday

JSN1105 pricing will be announced tomorrow

How about parts availability?
Glad you asked! We'll be doing our best to keep parts in stock such as domes, studs, power valves, heads, etc. Lead time on our of stock parts is typically only a few weeks, but it will be rare that something is on back order. We've also done our best to keep everything standard - for example, there is no "Comp" or "Super Comp" porting on the 1200. EVERY MOTOR is built exactly the same way with exactly the same parts. Our 1200s ALL come fully ported to make the most power possible on this cylinder. The motor you buys is the same motor the pros will be running next year (and yes we've got a whole host of MAJOR sponsored riders for next year that will be announced in coming weeks).

Where Can I Buy Engines or Parts?
You can purchase directly from JSN at https://jetskinerd.com or TigerCraft at https://ridetigercraft.com/
You can also purchase through:
Adam at Fresh Coast Freeride https://freshcoastfreeride.com/
Chris McCarthy at CMR
or @Krenn Power Sports John Krenn at Krenn Powersports (John has motors being built in our first batch of 1200s if you are looking for very quick delivery)

Let's get a few FAQs out of the way?

  • Who Designed The Cylinder?
    • The cylinder was design by both Erik Brigham and Calvin Pollet (RIP) at CP Industries (this was circa 2013 I believe) and has gone through only minor tweaks for manufacturability and ease of assembly through the years.
  • I thought TPE used this cylinder?
    • Our engines use cylinders from CP Industries just like Torrent/TPE. Torrent had an agreement to exclusively purchase these cylinders from CPI for a number of years. That agreement expired this year and we've stepped up to purchase a large and ongoing order of cylinders. The cylinders for both JSN and TPE come from CP Industries and come out of the same molds. There really isn't much more to the story and I'd be more than happy to chat with anyone that has questions about this.

I think what you're doing is great work. Of course, I don't know the history of how this sport developed, who invested in tests, projects, setups, etc. - I don't feel I have enough knowledge to speak on this. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that this sport really needed this. I also can't assess what the engine price should be from the manufacturer's perspective. I run a company that supplies electronic devices for brands in the HVAC industry, and looking from the outside, sometimes people think prices are high, but knowing the BOM and costs on our side, the assessment of this situation is completely different.

What I fear is whether your work won't just result in lower costs at TPE without significantly redirecting orders to you. Of course, I want you to succeed and achieve success, but I've seen similar situations in business many times before, which led to the existing market brand with a ready solution simply lowering their prices and thereby keeping the orders for themselves. If I'm seeing correctly on the Torrent Pumps website, that's what happened. So you've done great work for the entire community. You've saved everyone a lot of money. I hope this will also bring you profit.

Going back to the price - I live in Poland, and with these prices that were in place, freestyle jetski was a sport less popular than niche. When my friends heard about these costs, they were shocked because basically all other amateur motorsports like neighborhood car racing or motorcycles are significantly cheaper. For better or worse, I bought a DASA 1100 10mm engine about half a year ago. Thanks to Blowsion, I was able to buy it at a very attractive price, for which I am grateful to them. So at this moment, I won't be a customer.

Nevertheless, I really believe in you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! If I may add something from my side, consider enriching the engine with information about what complete setup you recommend (carburetors, exhaust, pump, pitch impeller, nozzles diameter, trim, ignition). And again - following exactly the path you've taken, meaning no variants. Simply the stock stroke 964 setup (e.g., Mikuni 46, Zeel, B-pipe, 148 mm Solas) and the powerful 1200 setup (e.g., SE50, FS49, TL, RRP/FPF pipe, some big pipe etc.).

I really enjoy the market getting more vendors and competition in producing products.

But it is a pretty bold thing to go out and say it makes more power without any proof of dynoing or BSFC mesured ratings imo.

But as I said, I hope this turns out well I like both you Jordan and Tony as humans, there is nice work behind your motors and hulls, so happy days!

I would love have one jsn 12 myself someday, preferble with steelsleeves but nica works to;)

Fair point about the power claim. I will say, I personally own a Torrent built comp ported 1200 so I’ve done back to back testing. A dyno Is likely in the future for me but I doubt if it’s really an effective tool to improve these engines. It’s hard to simulate the way the motors are loaded in freestyle.

Honestly, if what we’ve done here does nothing more than drive the competitors prices down to reality, mission accomplished. This is ultimately a hobby for all of us. I’d rather make less money but get more people on top performing skis. That’s what will ultimately grow the sport. Having Absurd prices that just help your business make money in a small market is short sighted IMHO.

Yes but yours back to back testing is not more than a feel in your butt and you running your own products, dont take me wrong here but you see my point.
But still, dyno is dyno you can set up whatever style of pull you like with whatever load you want, and if equipped enough measure the BSFC to really see the difference on hard numbers.
I can help you out with setting a like land-sea dyno up if needed any support.

I may take you up on that. I’ve missed a couple good deals on land and sea dynos in the past year but I’ll probably pull the trigger on one if it pops up
