I've seen these before. Very little info about them out now, but I did read somewhere they're pricey, around $12K US. What I'm really curious about is how they would actually handle on a real wave. The board looks funky, but it could be a winner with the right design. Seems to me they should partner up with an actual surfer for the board design.

I would say it could be very promising if they did partner w/ some type of waterman/surfer and developed it as a kyak or a board... looks like it would be still sluggish and probably not resemble a person actually surfing w/ a board due to weight and engineering capabilities. Parts would be very expensive due to originality too...

W/ that said I go for it... technology is only getting better, so in 10 years that could be something we can't even imagine now. Look at a Circus hull. 10 years ago that would have been thought to be not ridable by lots of people.

I've seen the wavejets also. The problem with electric powered stuff is that the battery technology simply doesn't exist to make them practicle. Wavejet claims a 30 min run time for one of those boards (Who surfs for only 30 min?) and the price is around $4500, not $2500. I emailed them about a demo and they never replied back. The surfjet is powered by a little 2 stroke though. If it capable of what I'm thinking of, It doesn't need to be fast, its not meant to compete with a ski. It just needs to be fast enough to get you into waves with out paddleling

Imagine trying to get a wave in any lineup. I'd give a sup ridin cook a spot before that. It looks fun to mess around with but for how long?

Dude you're missing the point. Obviously you couldn't ride a 2 stroke powered surfjet among other paddle surfers, as a matter of fact, I can't even see anyone riding an electric wavejet without getting thier arse kicked either, but if you had that same 2 stroke powered surfjet at any of the 1000 miles of deserted beachs in Baja, it could turn a crumbly sectioned out beach beack into a dream session

Pretty sure these are not offered in the US yet, if you go to there website there are no US dealers as of a few months ago i haven't looked into it since then. Great idea, way to pricey. If it could be affordable like the new Seadoo Spark, I think these would sell like hot cakes

I would prefer one of these to a ski. I have been surfing since I was a little kid but after I had heart surgery at age 32 it became very painful to lay out flat on my chest on a surfboard and even more painful to paddle due to shoulder damage from being opened up. My Superjet has allowed me to keep surfing pain free (for the most part).
