jetting tips / help kawi 550sx 1990

i have installed a 46mm sbn makuni carb on my piston port ride and im wanting to know what everyone is running in there carbs for jetting
what sizes of main jets, pilot jets, and what do you have your pop off set at

im needing a good starting point for this carb
i dont want to burn up my motor

A 46mm? Yikes that seems big for a 550. I had a 44mm SBN on my 550. Jetting for it was 120 high and 100 pilot. Running 16 psi pop-off pressure. That was for a stock compression boat with a Coffman's Climax half pipe on it and a Tau Ceti flame arrestor. The jetting will be different for a 46mm though.

well i got the carb from a buddy at work he told me its a 46mm but i checked the bore and its more like 45mm at the bottom of the throat where it mounts on to the intake and it looks like its just a little smaller down in there where the buterfly is
the carb is silver and i looked in the parts unlimited pwc catalog and they show that the 46mm carbs are silver
but i have a 44mm carb that is black i checked the size of the throat on it and it also has a 45mm hole ant the base of the throat
so im gonna say this silver carb i have that was reworked from buckshot is a 44mm
this carb has huge jets in it the main jet is a 220 and the pilot jet is 190

i checked the black 44mm carbs jetting it has a 115 main and a 92 pilot

thanks for the reply super dee

any others out there with any input?
