Jetworks - Absolutely Excellent

I got my new Bigbore engine from Jetworks.
Art & Robert were excellent to deal with, always courteous, always understanding to my stupid questions, and more than willing to work with me.
When I initially contacted Art about building me an engine, it was July. I told him it would most likely be an over-the-winter-build and that I was in no hurry.
Art was fine with that and asked to just send him parts as I got them.
Over the following two months, the pace changed for me somewhat. I sent Art a box of parts and a pair of used 46 BlackJacks and asked him to send me back a complete engine ready to bolt in.
Again, Art was very accommodating with this changed schedule.
I simply asked him to build me a powerful and reliable std stroke big bore and let him handle the details.
I didn't even know what bore the cylinder was until after it shipped to me.

Specs:
Ported cases & cylinder @ 84mm bore = 754cc
Dual 46mm BlackJacks, rebuilt by Jetworks
Ported & bored & matched FPP manifold and headpipe
MSD Enhancer
195psi with 35cc domes, gonna run AvGas & Premium
Assembled and tuned by Jetworks.

I have not run this engine yet. The water is about 40 degrees right now.
I might give it a try this weekend, not sure yet.

Anyhow, a big thumbs up to the guys at Jetworks.

Looking good.:arms:

From now on it's time to ride, let the others wrench on the beach.

That was my only motivation in paying for this motor.
Sick and tired of wrenching. The past couple of seasons were really bad.

What intake manifold is that ?

I don't remember. LOL. I bought a bunch of parts from Randy @ Watcon for this build. Maybe Riva?
Art painted it.

Yep, nothing better than hitting the green button and going.

Free time is worth much more than the cost of the build.

So, how much longer must you wait before the ice melts ?:pokey:

It's actually pretty decent right now for winter time.
It's been high 40's to 50ish air temps, and the water is just below 40.

I bet your gonna love it... I'm loving my 81.5mm bore 61x ported by jetworks. Art is the man. He will answer any question no matter how basic. He will never make you feel dumb for asking simple questions.

I didn't have him assemble my engine, I had DangerBoy (a 20+ year plus pwc veteran) help me assemble my engine. Art sent me back my carb with his recommended settings and it is perfect. Rode this weekend after installing a kawi style coupler and the engine is killer. So smooth, so strong, and throws my head back with every pull of the throttle.

Bluegtate is now sending a cylinder to him tomorrow. Art is encouraging him to run Art's new dual 38mm carb mod over a single 46 BJ like I am running. And if Art is saying a set of stock modified dual 38's are better than is own brand of carb, you know this mod has to be good.

That was one thing I really appreciated about the way Art does business: he never once tried to sell me anything that wasn't necessary for this engine.
At one point, I asked about a bolt on part that he could have sold me for about $600. He told me that he didn't feel it would be worth the money. I appreciate honesty.

absolutely... i gave him my riding history and type of riding and steered me away from a big bore even though that is what I had originally planned on doing...

out of curiosity, which part was that? an aftermarket flywheel?

I wish I could. It's too cold, and I am too busy.

I took on 14 credit hours of undergrad EE courses on top of my FT job.
If I get lucky, I'll put it in and try it during spring break (March).
For now, it gets to sit in the basement.

FYI, Art did recommend using 44 Blackjacks on my engine. However, I had bought a set of 46 Blackjacks, and we ended up using those.
I'll reiterate how pleasant of an experience dealing with Jetworks was/is.
Art went above and beyond fixing a small issue that came up. I am thoroughly impressed.

Why didnt you want to do his 4mm stroker setup? Ive been asking him for the same thing you got but he keeps talking about his 4mm setup. Im having him replace my crank with a hotrods so its 'just' 500 more to do it... I dont know if its worth it or not. without it im right at my budget but i have plenty of time to get the last 500 before the motors done im shipoing it out tomorow. oh and by the way GO RIDE THAT THING and let me know!! LOL

Your loving it Matt- I'll introduce you to Chris at the Tillamook Airport for av gas when you hit up the surf. Easiest gas stop in Oregon and you can pump it all yourself these days- Cant wait to ride that thing, spring break at the surf beotch.

I already had a good crank and wasn't keen on spending more money.

In retrospect I sort of wish I had gone that route.

Sounds like a good idea.
