I find this utterly amazing but not for the reasons you may assume. The amazing part of it is that people will get off the a$$ and go back to work when you stop paying them to sit at home on their a$$es, and Biden for some reason couldn't figure this out.

I am unlike most being self employed , I don't get unemployment benefits, if I don't work I cannot pay my bills effectively. So while all these morons were sitting on their a$$ I was out hustling every day and it worked because during the plandemic business was really good, it turns out that Jet skis and ATV's were some of the few things you could still go out and do and have no contact with other people.

For medical reasons I have not been able to get out there and hustle for the last few months and it damn near killed me sitting here knowing I had so much I could be doing, the fact that there are so many unfilled jobs and able bodied people not actively looking for work is simply astounding , this is another government created problem that those of us that have to work are stuck paying for, thank God I only have about two years left to go working and supporting this nonsense.

Most of us wouldn't create a problem , fix the problem and then pat yourself on the back for fixing the problem but it appears that is the mo·dus op·e·ran·di of the current regime, don't believe me though I am just a private citizen , if you want conformation that's easy just the State of the union address, this is exactly what you will see.

Yep it really chaps my hide , meanwhile here the season has already started and whether I am fully able or not does not matter, I have to hit it hard to make up for my downtime. They are still working on my AFIB issue and hopefully in about two weeks they will shock my heart back into rhythm.

Tough times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create tough times.

Not sure who gets credit for this quote, but it’s so accurate. This is how I see our downward spiral.
WWI/ depression era: Tough times create strong men.
WWII Generation: strong men create easy times.
Boomers: Easy times create weak men.
Gen X/ Millennials: weak men create tough times.

We’re at “weak men create tough times”.

Theres nothing new under the sun, this has been happening since long before we were born. Save a few rocks to throw at all the rich guys (and congressmen) that have been sending good jobs out of the country. I got to experience it first hand when my airline closed the hangar for good after sending all the work to El Salvador. After that Ill never look down on a poor person for saying F--K it. I have done much better since but some guys didnt make it.

Sounds pretty accurate I have been working since I was 13 years old.

My dad is old school. He’s almost 80 and can still work circles around me. He worked in construction and every summer and weekend since I was 12-13, he had me working. Hated every minute of it but I wouldn’t do anything different.

The situation with my dad was almost identical, Summer working in construction, I remember making 6.50-7.00 an hour back in high school , cash money no taxes , that was the life.

Bidens billionaire tax proposal, Yeah I know what you are thinking hell they can afford it right, I mean it won't affect anyone here of course, what's the big deal.

Well let me give you a history lesson, Not my words but here goes :

Through 1860, Americans did not pay individual income taxes. Instead, the government collected revenue through excise taxes, like the whiskey tax. The government started collecting income taxes from citizens with at least $800 of annual income starting in 1861 to help fund the Civil War, but repealed the tax a decade later after the war had ended.

When Congress tried to implement another income tax in 1894, the Supreme Court ruled the tax unconstitutional even though it had upheld the income tax during the Civil War. This led to the ratification of the 16th amendment in 1913, allowing for a federal income tax. With just one percent of Americans began paying a one percent tax on their net income, the income tax system used today was born.

While the top tax rate jumped to 77 percent in 1918, most Americans still did not have to pay income taxes or file a tax return through the 1930s. Americans with net income of $3,000 or more had to file a tax return, but fewer than 6 percent met this threshold. Those who were required to file usually had their local IRS office prepare their return by the March 1 filing deadline. Early DIYers could do their own taxes following just one page of instructions. A century later, instructions for form 1040 reached 207 pages.

By the middle of the 20th century, more changes were underfoot. Employers started to withhold taxes from employee wages in 1943. The tax deadline moved to April 15 in 1954. By then, more than three-fourths of Americans had an income tax obligation and they paid $29.5 billion in income taxes, up from $420 million two decades earlier. As more Americans were required to pay income taxes, they couldn’t rely as much on a local IRS office to prepare and file their tax returns.

So you get this right, Income taxes started off as taxes on the very wealthy, that was all it was ever supposed to be, and yet many years later here we are, be afraid, be very afraid !.

Read the summery of Thomas Piketty's book "Capital in the twenty first century". There is a lot of historical data on who had money and the way people lived. Up until WW2 there were a few wealthy and a lot of poor. After WW2 most people had it really good by comparison. Today a college grad cant afford the same house that a HS dropout could buy in 1970!

I see it with rich people all the time because I work on their playtoys , they never want to pay anything, I would rather work on Joe Blows ski from up the ski because he will show up and pay when I am done with his ski, ATV whatever. Most of the rich guys trying to save a buck I turn away and tell them to go see the Stealerships.

Government and specifically government spending is out of control, the recent hiring frenzy at the IRS is the most notable one , 86,582 new agents is what they are looking at hiring and 78 million dollars was allocated to that cause.

But wait there is more, of course there's always more, after 911 the government created a whole new agency, the DEPT of homeland security, that agency has 240,000 employees 7100 of which are agents. $69.2 billion spent in 2022, it will go up every year.

Don't cut Social Security to get the deficient in line, cut these ridiculous bloated and costly programs .

Don’t get me started on the Patriot Act that was passed after 9/11. That legislation is scary.

I know where I would start cutting jobs at , the IRS would be the first one on the chopping block, the FBI and homeland security would be next.

Lots of jobs in my area with all the hours you want in the nursing field........my area is probably 60% or more elderly. Put it this way, our little town population is 13,000 in the city limits. We have like a dozen or more old folks assisted living places. No joke!

It looks like the IRS backed off the $600 misc income reporting for this tax year, it appears it caught everyone off guard and there was no way to get it implemented this tax year , don't worry though it will all be set up for next year and who know how long it stays, my guess is till Biden is out of office.

How the hell do you go from $20,000 to $600.00 in one tax year and why the hell are the people not up in arms about this change, this is one of the biggest attacks on small businness I have seen in my lifetime , I mean damn at least send us some free gubmint vasoline in the mail.
