I just noticed that and was wondering to myself it that means it is in fact possible to get a dry pipe to survive big hits, or (more likely) he fixed and replaced a lot of chambers.
Many people ran them. Just knowing they were going to blow couplers and lord mounts. That pipe makes great power. This was early on in his career. He was still running stock hoods as well.
 
Nope. I ran same setup but with a BPipe... ran great... not great for chasing boats and long distance cruising.
I had no idea that set up was even a thing. Just to clarify when you say 62t you mean it was a 62t case/61x cylinder or a full 62t motor and then what intake?
