If it had said Matt_E, I might have believed it...
I received a high bandwidth usage notice yesterday which I've never seen before. Apparently fwi and a few others have really hammered the site on bandwidth this billing cycle, so to avoid several hundred dollars in overage fees, I had to remove most of the graphics from the site to hopefully get by. It was either this or shut the site down for the rest of the billing cycle.
fwi will be dealt with in the future, with possible punishment to possibly include personal apology pm's to every member, loss of post count, and no x-h2o t-shirt wearing privileges.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm not sure that JETT is still supporting the mobile version - he'll have to answer that. But I believe that in his profile, your buddy can select an option to not load images. that will help him greatly. But I got the subject line for noticing it first! I'm on the west coast and was up until almost 2AM.
This brings up a question I had a few weeks ago but never asked. I know someone who is on slow dial-up. Not just dial-up but a slow dial-up connection out in the sticks. It takes minutes for a page full of postings to load. Could he change his view to mobile device through some control panel on vbullitin?

He has an old, old Mac. If he had a newer computer that supported Firefox he could right click on an image from the X then block all images from the X.I'm not sure that JETT is still supporting the mobile version - he'll have to answer that. have him go to his UserCP, then "edit options" - toward the bottom, is a section title "visible post elements" - uncheck all the options and then click on "save". that will strip all signatures, avatars, and images. He has an old, old Mac.
