Jon Boat w/ Wet JEt Motor

i spoke to mastercraft they said The impeller is $147.75 and the drive shaft is $188.10. But we currently have the complete jet pump assembly on sale right now for only $349.00....seems like a good deal??

So why do you think it needs a new impeller?

If it really does, pull the impeller and send it into Impros. Its a helluva lot cheaper than buying a new pump unit
 
well i knew the impeller was chewed up pretty bad..when i take the boat out i can only goto about half throttle then it seems like the impeller is slipping and the motor revs out .

He should search on eBay for an impeller for a 'wetjet kraze' not a 'wetjet duo', right? The motor parts & e-box are Yamaha. If it's revving out and not getting on plane it prolly is the impeller. You need to get the impeller off and see how bad the finned part behind it is also before you make an order.

I've been thinking of building something similar. How is the fiberglass jetski hull glued or epoxied to the alum boat hull?

No thats a Brut pump,I would know it anywhere,they are kinda funky to work on and getting that clamp back on properly is a beeoich!Mastercraft sold all their remaining parts to those years ago but a call to Mastercraft could probably get you the phone # of the supplier.

it looks nothing like the brut pump in my fazer/wildcat/whateverthephvckitscalled.
 
sorry it rained all day here so i didnt get any pics taken..i ordered the whole pump assembly and it should be here weds so i hope that fixes my problem..i am still unsure of what size the motor is just know its a 95 and the drive shafts are all the same..i dont have the jet ski hull mounted in my boat jus the motor and the rest has been fabricated out of aluminum.ill try n get some pics up tonight..thanks again for the help

Is it a J14 or a J12? I understand some of these Carolina skiff boats came with yamaha 701s (which you have despite the wetjet markings). Its a good motor.

heres some pics..i am still unsure of what motor it exactly is...was won dering if someone could help me with the cooling system..on the pump on the outside of there are 2 hoses running in 1 runs to the bottom of the manifold an dit was clogged and i fixed it the other just runs inside the boat to nowhere?? i have no clue what the hose does its on the left side of the pump..

heres some pics..i am still unsure of what motor it exactly is...was won dering if someone could help me with the cooling system..on the pump on the outside of there are 2 hoses running in 1 runs to the bottom of the manifold an dit was clogged and i fixed it the other just runs inside the boat to nowhere?? i have no clue what the hose does its on the left side of the pump..
is it for a siphon bilge pump? are the hoses that connect to the pump on the same part of the pump or different part?

and on the hoses ,there located on the outiside on the housing that holds the impeller the hose on the right runs directly to the bottom of the manifold and it was clogged with sand and the hose on the left just runs to the back corner of the boat and im unsure what it does?

Awesome boat! How much did you pay for it if you don't mind?
Just don't use the engine to get out of a really shallow spot, paddle or get out & push.

The one hose that comes off the reduction nozzle is going to the inside back of the boat is a water siphon that will suck water out of the hull. the other line that comes off the middle part of the pump is to force water in and cool the motor.

As stated before, it's a Yamaha motor, really only the carb & intake is diff for the wetjet jetski models (it's a 46mm carb) and they are usually gold colored. It's known as a '61x' motor, 701cc. You have single carb 61x cases, 61x cylinder, 61x head. Ebox is basically the same for 2 cylinder yamaha 650cc, 701cc, 760cc motors.

Most people here would agree to remove the stock oil tank and injection on the front cover of the motor (get or make a blockoff plate) and mix the oil yourself. Very easy to do. 1 less thing to fail and kill your engine.

thanks for the helo makes sense aout the hoses now..im slowly learning..i gave 2k for the boat n a brand new trailor and an extra motor..trailor is like brand new and boat is all welded..what is a wet pipe?
