Super Jet JSS type 4/9 manifold mod

I have never had a problem aligning my type 4. I use a silicone coupler from ebay, an use the big clamps from the oem exhaust. I have never had the pipe come off. You can also use 1/2" wide band clamps, but it is almost impossible to get a ratchet in there to tighten them. I think the type 4 is a really underrated pipe, mine makes great power, awesome thump down low and absolutely rips on the top end.

I did the JSS mod to my type 4 with some high temp copper sealant, silicone coupler and Tbolt clamps and never once had an issue. It made the install easier, not sure how much easier but it was a bit easier. Setting the pipe up on the engine and aligning it out of the ski makes a world of difference. If the coupler was going to blow off it would do it regardless of the barb being there, alignment is the name of the game.

x2.

That pipe makes good power, not as "smooth" as a b-pipe but a screamer for sure.

I dit the mod too realy helpt alot, and got some high pressure hose for a coupler and havent change coupler in 1 year soo fare. Have also run my type 4 back too back with a b pipe the b pipe comes on faster but not as hard as the type 4.

how much of the pipe can be bolted to the motor when installing the motor? I'm guessing only the manifold? Well, I'm hoping the manifold can be bolted on, it's pretty big.

it has a total of three lord mounts, not really sure how people have issues with them coming off, mine is pretty darn solid with everything clamped down.

I think it was Rhaas that had some real nice looking stainless and urethane lord mounts at THE freeride. They looked much nicer than the FPP mounts, as long as the extra rigidity doesn't kill your pipe.
