Breaking in carefully. I did notice the chinewalk going straight in glass flat water over 2/3 throttle. I have a lot of hours on js550s in the surf about 7 years ago. I have always wanted a superjet.

I thought it would be a good idea to ride this one stock for a short while to really get the ski before I made changes. The changes I made to the 550s were usually plate, prop, pipe, head in that order. I took it out for about an hour this week and the #1 thing I learned that I need .. to get my butt back in shape. Crap what a wuss. I bought a stand up seadoo 3D thinking that would be the stuff. It was alright but the couch jeans always showed thru @800 pounds if you took it in the surf. Once I dropped the coin for that I was stuck with it. Till now! Now I see how much I missed REAL jetskiing. I am so glad to be back among the ranks of watercraft were personal means 1. And it takes skill to actually ride.

I have been searching and reading here like mad. So much to take in.

Big John from stumpy's gettin my ride

hellofa lot cheaper than CA prices. good for you
I was checking for deals every day and one popped that was too good to be true. I drove 17 hours round trip to get it.

In this area I normally see 7500-8500 then you add the dealer feel good of +800ish and you might as well buy an AM body and an engine...

Awesome! $7200 isn't bad, that's about what I paid for mine 4 years ago I believe. What's your first mod's planned?

I found the wavejunkies via a post on the Carolina beach event facebook page that I linked from here. Excited about riding with them. Seriously thinking I need to go to Oregon for SURFSLAM 2014...

First mods prolly a prop and plate. Footwells! I am liking the look of the diggers. Later and as $$ allow Waterbox and pipe made a huge difference on my 550s.

Got some tray time and that chine walk is pretty viscous. Squirrelly as hell going straight any speed on plane. Like skinny tires on a bridge grate...
she carves like a dream though. I am still getting the touch of it but it was great to be back. Even wiping out. alot.

I also think I can see how shortening the pole could help with getting back up faster and keep the porpoising down some without the reminder to lean. :)

Congrats on the new ski!

To get rid of the chine walk I usually keep the ski leaned over a bit when going straight, it will cause you to go at an angle but keeps the ski from walking back and forth. Also I would suggest getting the exhaust before a prop otherwise you are going to have to buy a new prop when getting the exhausted due to the power difference.

I intend to mainly freeride in surf. I live on flat water but I don't want to try and make this an 'everything' boat. If I play around the river I'll just deal. But when I get in the surf I want ideal.

@SuperJetGirl I was looking at the blowsion spring and pole limiter. Those are pretty cheap in boat dollars.

@SkiDiggity That's a great point about the pipe. I didn't think about that.

I have heard so many mixed reviews on the D cut. What the real deal on that?

And thanks for all the support.

Also, when buying all of these parts just go straight through @JetManiac. He's got everything with great prices and super fast shipping. He can help steer you in the right direction on stuff too.
