Just bought a 2014 SJ.

Hey man glad you like your new superjet. I just beat on an old one that is 23 years old. lol. Enjoyed the un-crating pictures but booo on the guys clark forklift, crown for life :p

I just wanted to weigh in that I think rideplate is all preference as all it does is basically change the severity of the pivot point of the boat. if that makes sense. An extended you will be leaning very far forward to hook up and then avoid pearling on a wave. D-cut your body position stays more neutral. Ups and downs to both!

I'd just keep riding it completely stock until its not possible to get any better.

Pretty sure longer ride plate and leaning forward are the best ways to make your ski pearl, not avoid it... Shorter the ride plate, higher the nose will get. Shorten the ride plate, shorten the pole, quicken the steering to get a ski that'll actually turn and be nimble.

No, sorry. I left out a few words. What I meant was you would have to lean way forward to hook up and then way back going back down the wave, my bad.

Chine walk will go away with throttle. TBM ride plate will stop it. TBM is for carving / racing and will limit your freestyle. So just D cut the stock one and switch them back and forth depending on where you ride.

I couldn't imagine cutting up 8K worth of ski! I do hate they way the 14's plow though. I'll be in the market for a new plate this winter. maybe have tom21 make up a few carbon ones when he catches up.

I rather quit then sit!
I've got a '13 SJ. You'll definitely want a quick steer turn plate! My '13 wouldn't turn on a dime to save my life without the steer plate.

I have the Blowsion ride plate WR314, I like it!
