My footrocket tops out at 52mph and I can keep in the throttle pretty good around a bouy course... So definitely possible to shred/cruise around on a small ski. I don't see the point in getting a a/m ski if your not going to use it to it's full potential, maybe you just want to look "cool" , Idk.
If i was just wanting to cruise around, jump waves and maybe do a barrel roll or 2, I would be on a superjet.

I chase boats on a 1000 acre Lake all day on my WDK RIP and have some flatwater fun when there're no boats. I flatwater flip it with a single carb 701. That doesn't mean it's easy to ride fast for long distance tho lol. Anything longer than a mile around 30 mph I'll get on my knees and cruise for a little(which is just as fast)

This was when I ran a 701 single carb with just exhaust and boost port modified. B pipe, stock 144mm pump on a glass rip. No Enhancer either and I was just learning how to ride the thing.

The bam ski will do all of that plus surf ask Hugo on here
I love my BAM - I chase boats all weekend long. My BAM is still waiting for my skills to catch up to what the ski is capable of. I ride it standing, kneeling, whatever is easier for this old guy at that particular moment. it gets amazing air off boat wakes, I just need to grow some balls and pull it back for a flip. spending this summer with the old 701 and learning my ski before i put my new 771 in it for '18. I can't comment on other skis as I have only rode 650sx, SN superjet, WDK Rev, and now the BAM. the BAM does everything those skis did only better! ( the SN, WDK, and the BAM all used the same drive train basically) If I were to buy another ski today - I would call Crazy Joe. but for now my BAM is perfect for me (except for not being yellow).

Another vote for a -4.3 Freak. It's an amazing all around hull. So much fun to ride.

My foot rocket has a small motor in it, and was built to ride surf but I find it much more entertaining on the lake than my SN. I haven't been on many other hulls but the footy gets around the lake awesome.

I also vote for 50 Cal Footrocket...rode around on a lake and enjoyed the hell out of it. Not as easy as a Superjet, but with a long ride plate it is very stable.

My Rickter FS-2 is great for cruising the lake. I can drink a beer and smoke a cig and not fall off.
was about to say, I love my FS2 evo on the lake, just a Piped 701 with a full size tank and its a blast! Ride for hours without having to go back to the dock

it may not idle flip but its 10x as fun when chasing boats and ripping the river than my super jet. It's definitely not as stable and harder to ride than an SJ
