Blaster just got a B2 now what?

Just got a 96 b2 and a 760 in unknown condition. I have an extra 701 sitting here also that needs a top end so I guess my question is which engine would you put in it ? Can I put a top end in my 61x and run the 760 exhaust on it or am I stuck usingthe 760?

do a compression test. disassemble. inspect crank bearings. replace gaskets and seals if you feel its ok. or get a 180 dollar sbt crank new gaskets and some pistons. could be rebuilt with around $500

There are a couple of small complications in running a 61X in that hull.
The exhaust manifold bolts are M10, whereas your 61X cylinder accepts M8 bolts. You could use bushings.
The exhaust bolts to the rear of the head (or the front?) whereas the stock 61X head has those bosses on the opposite end. You really need to run that exhaust mounting bracket, too.
You could get around that by running the 760 (or 62T 701) head.

I really want to take the 62t cases and use them for my superjet which is why I want to put the 701 in it. I knew the exhaust bolts were bigger also now just have to figure out what I am going to do. the 760 cases were full of oil when I pulled it out of the ski, what would cause that?

^^^ He is Right, but I found the fix to them bolts. Called "JIS" Bolts (Japanese Industrial Standard). Same Thread Pitch just have the Smaller Heads. 10mm instead of the 12mm. We have all been there at one point or another with trying to get them Wretched 12's off that damn pipe and can barely fit it in there. I got the master part # if you need it. Your local cycle shops should carry them. I use them with Red Locktite, Washer, and a Lock Washer. I also run a different pipe and mounts and when you go that route you usually have Vivration Issues. That ^ is a way to solve it though!
