do i need a new oring seal? also what is the best way to install? one girdle bolt at a time so i dont have to replace the base gasked on the cylinder? I'm not read familiar with these so a heads up is appreciated if there is osmething i should know before installing.

do not use loctite on those acorn nuts.... the studs will turn out when u loosen the acorn nuts...base gasket will be fine with all 6 bolts out for switch over...

can i just use regular nuts instead of those acorn nuts? and i read just thread the long studs into the case till they bottom out. no need to torque them. is this correct?

use the acorn nuts....bling factor...yes until the studs stop hand tight... I used a 10mm stud tool.... I ran a tap down first to clean up threads then blow out with air.

also the head has some silicon looking stuff around the oring. if i scrape it all off. can i just leave it like that or do I need to add some sort of silicon or gasket maker back on it?

use just grease to hold the o-rings in place...sealant makes more work and ADA says not to use it. "Sealant changes tolerences in the grooves" per Brooks designer of ADA products.
