Clean ski, nice pick up! I remember wanting one of these so bad when I was a kid when they came out and I finally got my first one in 2022
Get steering, bars and a pole spring for sure, the stock steering is garbage and long. Feels like you’re driving from the back seat. The pole springs are usually clapped out. Be careful with the pole latch. They tend to break really easy.
Octanes rip and are a fun change of pace from my surf skis when I hit Havasu or Parker. I have 2 running ones in Hermosa Beach and a roached parts one I picked up this summer that was in a fire. People that tell you they ride like crap probably have never ridden one or spent much time on one. They're not the best handling for sure, but tray time helps. and you'll learn to ride it better. I've probably put close to 40 hours on my mint one since owning with no major issues.
I would get rid of the factory bilge pump. I changed all mine to a normal bilge pump to run on a switch. I didn't like it just running when the skis on and had some close calls sinking while just floating. Also, the Polaris ones can't be modded to run on a switch.
I bought a lot of the Worx stuff that I could find. I'm friends with Kyle at Dasa/Worx and he told me to grab whatever I could find on the shelves at shops or online as the Worx Octane stuff isn't produced anymore.
Keep an eye on Ebay and the Polaris Octane Facebook group, there's a lot of good of parts posted there. Tons of brand new OEM hard to find parts.
If you have any questions, let me know I've become pretty knowledgeable on these skis over the past two years. Hope to see you at Body beach sometime. That's usually where I ride mine
The sad part is someone probably does just not me. Check with Wamiltons and see if they have one laying around.
Try using an appropriately sized Otiker clamp on that hose , or see if you can find a slightly smaller hose that has to be forced onto the pipe even if you have to heat up the end up to get it on , using the Otiker clamp assumes that there is room to get the Otiker tool in there to tighten the clamp , they hold a lot tighter than regular hose clamps.
Wam hates these skis, Polaris changed his hull design at the last minute so he is not too fond of these haha. He has no parts, I was at his shop in 2023 after Daytona and asked him.
Here are my minty ones
