I'm pretty sure I'm gonna purchase this when they call me back, but the body (nose and rails) are alot different from my other X-2 and I've never seen one like this; is this what a "gen 2" x-2 looks like??
any input appreciated

Depends on what you want for them and the price of shipping. I'd like the front piece. Maybe the whole set. I have the 2 back pieces. I really like having them. I almost never use them, but they are very easy to add and remove. Allows me to use my X2 on idle speed only rivers and my family can enjoy my X2 w/o having to spend a lot of time learning to get up.

Don't think of them as training wheels. Think of them as a utility. I use mine so my girlfriend has something to cruise on when she doesn't feel like climbing onto the X2 while I use my Superjet. They allow me to use them on the river at my uncles that's idle speed only. They make it easy for me to take my niece for a ride on my X2.

They are not training wheels. You don't learn anything by using them. The ski handles like hell with them on and does not teach anyone how to ride without them. What they are is a simple 4 bolt utility. You don't need a sit down. 4 bolts and your X2 is a sit down. Sit downs suck, but in some cases they have their advantages. The Pontoons give you many of these advantages w/o giving up your X2. They are great.

I think I just failed to make the same point, twice. :wiggle:
