Super Jet k&n flame arrestor stuck on carb

I went to change this K&n filter that came on my 91 superjet back to the stock flame arrestor I bought from a friend. The piece that bolts down appears to have been glued on with red locktite and seems to have been their for years. It's not coming off without snapping the bolts. My father is telling me heat will destroy the carb. So is there a way to remove this so i can go back to the stock arrestor without breaking things?

disassemble the carb then heat it where the bolt threads are in the side of carb body , do it quickly . Ive never trashed a carb yet .. ... heat can be your friend at times

I forgot to mention (sorry) that I do not want to dissasemble the carb. My boats running really great so if you think I need to take it apart I guess I'll have to wait till the off season. I want a second square hood to mod...blaster you have a pm...
