Kavinci pump Question

About to buy a kavinci 148 pump and trim setup off a good friend of mine. Question is, are the wear rings kavinci specific or are they compatible with other brands ?

I was looking at this on FB too.so from the guy I talked to hes pretty sure the wear ring is kavinci specific as well as the bearings and driveshaft length

You're probably right. Figured they'd make their poop to only work with their poop.

I was just going to buy it to try and modify it to work but too many unknowns without being able to see it in person to compare to Yamaha stuff

You can check out my build thread for a bunch of pump pics. It's specific to krash but you might be able to make it work.

It's completely 100 percent krash specific. It's like a Kawasaki 650 pump when assembled. You need to use the krash shoe and have it all bolted up when you install it. If you set the shoe alone your doomed.

Plus it will break itself

LoL.. a Good Friend is selling it to you?
Just kidding.

I have had mine for about a year now with little problems. I would check with Krash about getting a pump shoe 1st. Once you install it make sure not to over tighten the pump bolts as they strip out pretty easy.

It's going in my wife's flat water ski, I'm not worried about breaking it.
