Just doing some nice lake turns when the steering fell apart. Anyone else have issues? Anyone know contact info, cell number for Chris Grace (I already sent him a direct message)? Or another Rep. of Krash parts (Kavinci)? I never get on here anymore and expect some members have the same time issue.

Hope to get it warranteed it only been in use less than 9 times and only been together since daytona 18.

After looking at those pics from short term use are you sure you want another? I comprehend you are out the dough but you might want to look at a different system. Hope it works out well for ya.

Lots of good ones out there, I've run most. Currently have a Thrust that is nice and 1 year old with 6 hours on it lol. Have a WDK that is 7 years old been thru a few engines, salt and fresh and still like new.

if it loosened up first I could see how it would snap like that. the handle bars would have a ton of leverage on it.
Hmm mine was not loose at all and had been really nice since install. Then snap-o at the lake. I usually ride only surf. So glad it didnt happen in the waves where its easier to get hurt/lose a ski.

Stock bushing has to be greased and tightened over time. Overall uses a big single bearing that's behind a oil seal. No slop, no adjustment, no greasing required. Most robust ovp I've seen.

I tried contacting the guy behind OVERALL OVP, but didnt get any response. Looked pretty neat and also i EU for me. But no answer - no sale lol.
I went with the ATP micro system, only heard really got things about. Havent got to installing it yet, but will do one of these days.
That KV steering looks pretty bad :/

I've seen 2 of them break in our riding group alone. I do tighten my JW steering about once a season but have never greased the bushings.

What grade stainless? Tensile strength varies between the grades, and proper torque is VERY important. Grades of S.S. are super important, too, seeing as it varies how much carbon steel is in the mix. Do you know the Rockwell rating of the steel used? There are a lot of things to consider, regarding steel. Hardened steel is good in certain applications, but sucks in others due to it becoming brittle.

Looks like some corrosion in the bearings, but the issue seems to be the bolt itself snapping? (I'm not familiar with this setup, I run RRP on a few, and fabbed my own on a couple others.

(BTW, having a liquid lunch at the moment, so I may need to edit this later)

the old UMI systems were famous for getting loose and then snapping. I snapped one at a Pismo freeride a few years ago. I took the top bearing off, borrowed vice grips from TC, clamped them on and kept riding.
