what is the recommended torque for the head bolts for a kawasaki 650?

sorry this is my first time doing this job...first torque the bolts down in order to 21 ft pounds, then turn it on and runs off of hose for short time? then lossen down to 10 ft pounds? then retighten to 21 ft pounds?

No, just torque them all to 10 lbs, then to 21 lbs. Its a good idea to retorque them all to 21 lbs. after running the engine for 15-20 mins.

Metal gaskets dont change. It is thick fiber gaskets that crush and need checking after a good heat cycle.

It's a Japanese clone of an A10 BSA. The series are the only pre-unit bikes the Japs ever made I think. Pre-unit means separate engine and gearbox in case you didn't know.
