oh so you're building a 550. well good luck, the footholds are watercraft factory...

Thanks, I'm gonna need it. My first ski so I gotta work with what I have and I'm on a college student budget so it's gonna be even harder.:puppy_dog_eyes:

My 550 topend came in today. I'm going to have it honed and I've got to order some new piston rings and gaskets. I'll start tearing everything down next wednesday or so.

If I were you I would send it to group k for at least the sleeper kit. I think that is you best bang for your buck. http://www.groupk.com/k550pp.htm

I was away for the last two weeks so just getting back to it now. I am trying to get the motor all back together now. Anyone got a say on the timing. Should I just leave it at the factory setting or should I advance it a bit even with all the other work done to the motor?

Well from what I've read/been told that if you advance it alot your going to have to cut back on running it with the throttle wide open. I think the best thing to ge this the to pop out the water would be a 13* impeller.
