Other Kawasaki Super Chicken Build!

Hey Everyone,

So I recently purchased a Super chicken and am looking to add some more power to it but not really sure what will work with minimal modifications. I want to put the biggest motor possible in it to get the most speed! haha Has anyone done this or have any advice? I am trying to keep the cost somewhat low but more cc's sounds like its worth the cash!!

Anything is possible with money! 750/800 is a direct swap...you will just need to need to figure out mounting the electronics and also get a pipe. You can run a factory or coffmans pipe out of a 750 sitdown, some pipes require shortening which is simple.

I run a rebuilt 650 (Bored 1 size over, stock compression) with a lightened flywheel, single mikuni 44, coffmans pipe out of a 750 ssxi, and a 9/17 prop, and she freakin' rips. A lot of people find it hard to believe it is a 650 motor.

Good luck! They are lots of fun.

So weve had our 95 sc for a few years now and ive been seriously debating giving it some love. Its my GOTO lake ski. The SC is suprisingly fast in its stock form since its more of a boat hull.

At first I wanted to drop a tripple in it, im savvy with glass and you have to bubble our the bulkhead just behind where your legs go. That would be the ultimate just for the pure sound. Then i talked about dropping a yamaha based motor in it, FPP manifold mated to the coffman. But heres the thing. Its bone stock and I go outside and push the green happy button and it just keeps on ticking. Probably has 1000 hours on it lol and comp is stilll 155 155. We beat it, beers explode in the front compartment, send it off yaght wakes and it just keeps on going and going and going. Bottom line, i dont want to mess with it at all. i just want to play with it. I do enough tuning and fiddling with the rest of our fleet. At the end of the day if your going to do anything, go with what the duckster says. The 650 with some mild bolt ons is a good motor and ultra reliable.

Do you wanna wrench? Or send it?

Definitely hard to believe it was a 650. Plenty of power with this setup, my buddy and I couldn't get rid of our sh*t eating grins

Dude half the time were fighting over who gets the steering wheel. Ive pushed friends off the thing and left them floating cause its mine and get off. Sitting center is the BEST.

Ha...I was thinking the same thing. How fast can I make my SC that I just got. @The Duckster what is your top speed? What's the fastest someone has claimed their SC goes and what setup did they have? How about total loss on the 650? Reliability is not that exciting to me lol.

Hope you don't mind I am going to work in conjunction with you to figure something out.

I just got my SC yesterday and everyone says exhaust is the problem. Can't you flip a lay down pipe manifold upside down ? Relocate the battery and the pipe would run down that right side then you would have lots of room in between for waterbox. Not sure what pipes you can hook up to a lay down manifold. I also think you want to run your pipe pretty dry so water in the engine should not be a big problem.

Hell a Full lay down Exhaust may fit right in without cutting the pipe.

Check out my build thread. I did a 750 small pin with a single mikuni 44 and Coffman's SS pipe (similar to Ducky's) and a SeaDoo SP waterbox. It's pretty torquey

The 650 is 60 hp and a big pin 750 is 75 hp stock. That's what I'm planning with our SC. It's fun by yourself but slow with two adults on it. I figured a 750 with a pipe and the right impeller would be reliable and quick.

I messaged TNT and they said they could simply cut a lay down manifold and weld it rear facing. That would make it easier to run a Yamaha motor. Guess the next thing would be how much power could the current pump and intake tunnel Handel before needing modding. A mag pump would not be to hard but if the tunnel won't allow the water you are pissing upstream.

My Super Chicken high has worn off! I am going to just get a Groupk sleeper kit on my 650 and add a Coffman Pipe.

Depending how much fun I have I may buy another Chicken and do something stupid!

Talked to the guys over at Dales Jet Sports today. They told me they have done the 1100 conversion on a Super Chicken. All you need is a custom drive shaft made to bring the coupler back 5 inches and the adapter plate. They also said the performance difference between a modded 800 and the 1100 was very small and you are better severed with the 800. Made a point that any modded 800 needs to be 96 or newer ( large wrist pin )

No need to hack the hull and do glass work.
