Kawi 750 rebuild? Hone?

I have a big pin 750 in need of a rebuild. The cylinders have some rust. I would like to hone them out.
How big can the stock pistons go?

oem rings or rings specific to that hone?

Does the Gasket size change too?

I wouldn’t put oversized rings on a small piston, I don’t think that’s really a thing anymore anyway. Really have to clean up the cylinder and measure it to see how deep you have to go. But if it’s just surface rust and the motor was running before I’d be willing to bet it’d be fine with just the next size overbore. If your bringing it to a shop for the machine work they can mic it and tell u what size pistons to get

NO!! You cannot put over sized rings on your standard pistons....

If you have rust, I am sure you probably will need a bore. It is important to measure the bore, check for out of round, and taper. You then measure your pistons, and compare so now you know piston to cyl wall clearance. "IF" you are in spec, and your bore is straight and true, you then can perform a "light" hone to remove the glaze.

I can supply new pistons, rings, gaskets, measure and bore your cyls up to the next size (As long as they are not on the last bore, cracked, etc) if you want.

A simple hone is standard when putting new pistons in a non-bored cylinder, don't see why it would be different here. Hone it and measure. If its over spec, you need to bore the next size up. If its not, use the old pistons.
