My spark plug boots kept vibrating off the plugs.

I've had the msd boot retainers in the past, but they eventually broke.

I used some zip ties to keep them on this time.

Anybody have any other ideas?

my boots are 4 years old MSD''grey color'' with no retainers and i always use silicone grease ''lots of it'' they Never come off in the surf ! ?????? replace your boots imo

I could never figure out how peoples caps stayed on without retainers. Keep extra retainers around for if and when they break.

One good hard upside down landing or hard landing in the rapids and mine would pop off and leave me running on 1 cylinder. And why? Because I didn't spend .02 on retainers??? Not worth it! Put the retainers on and new caps.

I usually buy the 3 cylinder kit so you always have extras.

Where are you finding retainers for 2 cents?

i would like to know too.. and getting the wires through the boots was one of the most painstaking processes i have ever been though, even with the wires greased it took me about an hour and a half to get them through the boots, what a hassle..

LOL...I meant relative to what we all spend on this stuff....

I can't seem to find the last ones I bought but here is what I would get right now and be done with it. I always thought some stamped or machine aluminum ones but would be pretty cool but would they cause issues?

Boots shouls stay on without help. If they don't...get new boots. I've had nothing but MSD boots since stock. And, yes, I have keepers.

But, as X2Guy said....sometimes I think I'm gonna break something when I'm just pulling them off to change plugs.

New boots are easy. Might be time to cut those wires back a bit anyway.

I'd go with some MSD logo boots with the retainers and if they still come loose you might have an internal engine balance problem or bent rod etc.

I use accell boots they fit alot tighter around the wire (on the back side) and def fit tighter on the plug. Which (i believe) has really helped keep salt water off the upper side of the porcelain and plug end. But i do agree with above. If there falling off there just worn out no matter what style/ brand boots your using.

I use the ones off the Seadoo RFI models, NGK boots with an extra piece that holds the boot on. #70 on the microfiche, about $10.00 retail , fits standard NGK boots
