Hey All,
Anyone selling up here in the great white north on Kijiji (online classified) beware of a scam where a your add gets responded to via sms stating interest in your item (my SXR) stating to contact an email address about the sale. Once emailed the potential buyer gives a long song and dance about how how they can't get access to a phone as they are working offshore or something and want to complete the transaction but can only do so through paypal. They want to ship the item to Malaysia via a UK shipping company. Then they state how they are going to send the shipping company to pick up the item and the shipper will take care of all the details. Next a "problem" arises with the shipper and they need 700$ to process the transaction, the scammer then can't complete the transaction as they only can pay through paypal and the shipper needs the cash wired via wester union (HA!). If you refuse they threaten action with the feds or with paypal.
Anyways it's a big pile of bull
