Klotz benol premix okay?

I run benol in my Dirtbike, and was wondering if it's okay to run in my 650sx, it is not a tcw-3 rated oil, but I can't see the ski needing more rating than my 09 yz250 does. Am I mistaken? I'll use super tech if it's an issue.

P.s I know the oil topic has likely been beaten to death already, but I'm yet to find anything on running benol.

Benol works well in a dirt bike since the exhaust is dry. Pure castor oil tends to build up in skis because the exhaust charge is cooled with water. If you want to stick with Klotz, Super Techniplate would probably suit you better. It's 80% synthetic and 20% castor. For a rec ski that isn't racing I'd recommend 40:1 on the mix.

I have ran Benol for 13 years. 8 called Klotz also. Was running it in my SXR - stock class and ported SJ. The Tech said it was not ideal but after talking about how.the SXR got ridden. Typically WOT most of the time he said you will be fine. Just.mixed up last of my Benol. Making a change.

Same here. Ran Benol forever. I just wouldn't run it in a rec ski as it will build up -- and it does build up if not run WOT. This guy likely isn't running buoys with his 650SX. ;)

Super Techniplate is a good balance.

Just go with original techniplate or ski craft, you dont want that buildup. In my opinion Benol is for racing only, where engines are getting frequently torn down. I'd reconsider running it in your bike too, I'd use super tech in there.

I have been trying forever to understand the difference between original techniplate and skicraft. Does anyone know? I have heard that skicraft has "rust inhibitors" additives. Also, does original techniplate have Benol in it? I have a new gallon of original techniplate that I was thinking about using in my SJ, but it seems skicraft is the preferred oil.

The original Techiplate is PAG oil, it mixes with alcohol, nitro, and gasoline. It will also absorb a lot of water so it is mainly used with alcohol. Super Techniplate is the same but with some castor to extend its max temp. All their other formulas are gasoline only and ester based. These are much better with gasoline.
