Krash Reaper Review

After riding; Chopped and rockered blasters, MX1 and a Viper, I preferred the ride of the Reaper. Came across a decent deal on a hull and this is my review.

First time doing flat water on a Reaper.

Drive Train:
62t/61x 754cc CPT ported 170psi
SJ bpipe w/ RN waterbox
Dual 38's /Ocean pro flame arrestors / Boyesen 2 stage reeds
Zeeltronics / WaxCurve
144 Solas Mag / x-metal trim / 10-16 hooker

Pros: You can throw it around like an a/m stand up and being a fix steer you don't get tired as quickly. Compared to the blaster it is much easier to slide out and recover after tricks or spins and keep going. Side mounting is much easier and quicker compared to the blaster. As I get more time on it flat water I will post more. I will try and get some video too.

Cons: Squeezing the seat with your thighs gets painful pretty quickly. (Reason why everyone runs pool noodles on the seats)
A lot of drag so top speed is not great. I would guess I am probably topping out in the mid/low 40's. With the same setup in my blaster I was hitting high 40s/low 50's. Pain in the arse to build. :)

Thanks for the review. Does it porpoise at all at WOT? Same question for the MX1
No porpoising at all. I have only ridden the MX1 in the choppy surf so do not know how it handles in flat water.

Pool noodles on the seat???? What??? Pics?

I will post one soon as I find a place that still has some pool noddles in stock! :) Just like on the blaster or a mx, hugging the seat with your thighs. But with the Reaper it has a metal bar you are hugging that gets real old real fast.

Spent some time on the carbs and pipe tuning. She is now running in the high 40s and maybe even touching 50. And after covering the seat in pool noodles I do not have any brusing on my legs!

Made it through about half tank of gas before breaking my leg. (Surf was very small this year) but damn she is fun! And was awesome to be able to ride down the face of a wave without lawn darting.

Dude, that was you that broke your leg!?! Mega bummer.
Yea. Luckily I had the ATC70 to keep me busy the rest of the weekend. :)

Great picture! How did you break your leg!!!
Surf was really shallow. I jumped a wave and rather then break another exit nozzle on landing I bailed in hopes of saving the ski. Hit the ground a little to fast at the wrong angle and my ankle snapped over. I am already walking on it without crutches so the 'tussin is working.

Changed out the R&D Aquavein intake grate for a worx 228 and she picked up some speed and a lot less drag when letting off the throttle.
Hello Quinc, I have a 701 reaper that currently has no intake grate (that's the way it came) and I was wondering if you would recommend the Worx 228? I believe the pump in my ski is from a Raider if that matters.

Yes! the 228 is great. Also get yourself a mag pump or 148.

Okay thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to look into that. I mainly will be surf riding in Lake Michigan and want it to be able to jump waves well. The ski was kinda cobbled together by the guy I bought it from so I am having to re do a lot on it and I'm definitely new at all this so just trying to learn where I can

Start a build thread and post pics along with any questions you have. Lots of info here on my build that may help as well:
