Ksarge's Superjet V2

Building this with the intention of getting some good components together to swap into an AM hulll in a year or two. I almost let this thing go cheap last year but thanks to a little push from some of the members here I've decided it's not time for this ski to go out to pasture quite yet.

Some pics of what I'm starting with. Everything is a little crusty but the hull is actually pretty solid.

Made a little progress today. US composites sent me 150 epoxy instead of 635 so I'm waiting on that to get sorted out. (EDIT: sent me a half gallon of 635 and a pump and let me keep the 150 for free, AND handled it extremely well)
Had a little 635 so I reinforced one of the sides, still drying. Haven't done any glass work in a while (4 years) but it went ok. Still need to finish the edges. Definitely could have rolled out some more of the epoxy but I'm not overly concerned.

Cleaned up the inside of the engine bay as well and sprayed the bottom with appliance epoxy paint. Laid down 4 thick coats. It was tacky for a week or so but is hard as rock now.

Picked up one of these KP poles as well. Wasn't sure what to expect but I'm really happy with the overall quality of the pole. The tubes come long (30") so you can cut them accordingly which I thought was cool. I'm going to cut them so I can adjust between -2 and -6 from a stock SJ pole. I've always run a stiff pole but am going to try this one out with a spring. The little spreader tool they come with is pretty handy, and makes adjusting lengths quick and simple. We'll see how it pairs with my new ada steering.

Mocked up this hood as well. Sits pretty nice even with the old hood seal molded to the stock hood. Will sit nicer I'm sure with the new hood seal.

The motor is off for the hone and porting and a brand new Factory B Mod pipe is on its way :)

Have a few dozen items coming in the mail so this week will be fun.

Reinforcements are done with the exception of under the pole bracket. Glassed over the holes in the bulkhead and pump tunnel from where my trim tube was. That was a huge culprit of my leaky tray. Planning to use the stock bilge tube for the dual cooling

Ripped out the old crappy drain plugs and epoxied in some OEM couch style plugs. Had to take a grinder to one or the exhaust flange tabs but these will be so much more convenient.

I believe that fitting is further back in the pump to create a venturi so its pulls water OUT of the hull. Its really not hard to pull the pump, then drill and tap it.

Id probably also put some screws in the drain plugs. They seem to be sticking out past the chine. Drag from the water may rip it off and I think thats pretty close to where the trailer bunks rest

Tray's in finally. Laid up some panels to patch the holes where the footholds were using 2 layers of 1708 and epoxied those in. Used thickened epoxy to fill the cut line and glassed over with a strip of 6oz S glass. 2 layers of 1708 biaxle with mat backing with an extra layers where my feet will be.

Will get the footholds in and foam everything this weekend. Then it's time to prep for paint.

Carbs are done. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. John at JSS is a true master of his trade and was great to deal with and happy to answer all of my questions. I think they'll work great with my new set-up. Highly recommend JSS. Can't wait to see how my ebox, start/stop, and stator turn out.

The before and after pictures speak for themselves.

Footholds are done. Glassed in with thickened epoxy, then a layer or 1708 around the edges and wrapped in 5.5oz carbon/kevlar.

Starting pulling the turf off the rails and prepping for paint. Shooting to have it in for paint by next friday.

Ebox, start/stop and stator are back from JSS. Top notch work once again.

Does anyone know if my 13/17 Solas concord would even be remotely close to the right prop for a 701 with some porting, 35cc domes, lightened flywheel, dual 38's and a mod pipe?

Made a little progress. Sanded off all the old paint down to the gel coat. The KP poles come long so I took 7" off the tubes. The bars sit at the front of the tray with the pole at its shortest setting which should be perfect. Can always cut more.

Tray's foamed, two small knicks to fix and a couple more hours of sanding then hopefully in for paint next week.

Back from paint. Opted for Grabber Blue over the Dozer Orange. Still need to touch up the bottom as that's just getting black appliance epoxy. Hoping to get the hood and handle pole bracket mounted this weekend.
