Lake Allatoona September 5,6,7th 2014 Southern Fried/Jesse "Wasteland" Memorial Ride

Well here is goes. Figured I would put this on out here after the fun little ride we had near the end of last year. Not going to call it THE Southern Fried Freeride, but I do hope for a big turnout and to book this place up, but for now its the Souther Fried-ish ride. Its not a super organized event, just a bunch of people getting together, riding jet skis, hanging out, drinking, and having a good time! Location will be at the same spot as my previous camping trip and also where the southern fried ride was back in day... Allatoona Landing. For the people that have been to this camp ground can vouch for the good location. There is a cove that stays calm and flat, a beach area with sand to park the skis, flat water in front of the beach, and just out in the main channel it is between two big marinas harvesting some of the biggest cruisers on the lake! There is a boat ramp in the grounds, and also a place to lock trailers up overnight. The campground is alcohol and pet friendly so no need to hide the booze or Fido.....

I planned this weekend because its the weekend after labor day, and its so far in advance so we can all make plans. So spend time with the families on labor day weekend then bring your crew out the next! I will post all the info I can so everything can be found in this post, and keep it updated the best I can. I will be coming in Thursday after work and staying through sunday night. I already have sites P23 and P28 booked for myself and my crew, and one other guy we usually ride with has site P20. When I booked my spots today (1/22) every spot in the ground was open so lets book this place up!!!!! If anyone needs any more info, post it here or PM me and I will give you my number.

Trailer Parking:

If you look in the google picture, that big parking lot area in the middle is overnight trailer parking. They do not allow the trailers at the sites, but that is a fenced and guarded area overnight. All you have to do is call the front desk and a security guard will let you in any time at night and you can come and go as you please during the day.

Ski Launching and loading:

There is a ramp located inside the campground. If you have waterfront, you can put stand ups in via beach cart if you please. Water-level ground all around the campground is all fairly level, some areas rocky, but everywhere will support a beach stand just fine. When we usually camp here we put in at the ramp, drop the trailer in storage, then keep the skis by the sites all weekend either anchored or on stands.

And I know I posted this early, but now the booking a good spot and planning around the dates is up to you guys! And if someone wants to take initiative to plan a big cookout or whatever, please do so! See everyone then, and prob a ride or two in between!

Sounds good, book spots before all the snobby campers get the good ones and ruin a good time!! IF we get the entire "peninsula" booked or even the entire campground, we can discuss with the facility to have someone bring in music and such Saturday night! Any one that has a business or a parts set up pm me and I will go to the place and see what I can do to get you a good setup. Like I said, its so far in advance the ball is in our court!

Some of you may remember the Catfish I cooked there........ I am up for cooking again!!!!!!!!!

im not a big eater, but love to cook. can also help, may have some garden fresh veggies to bring if i get started early like i plan to, crappie and can even smoke a deer or elk shoulder.

My sites are already booked for this weekend... Consider it booked and done! This is the weekend... September 5,6,7th. Let make this ride awesome, meet new friends and remembering old friends!

Just book it for a tent spot. The sites are all pretty large but they do not allow the trailer at the sites. If you look at the google map pic, that big parking lot in the middle is trailer storage that is accessible all night long, and they have security there. Once you are in "the resort" you don't have to leave unless for supplies. Everything is located inside the campground. The best spots are down near the peninsula. Anything with a "P" in front of the site would be the best spots. We usually leave our skis in the water overnight and they don't ever have issues with that.
